Its just me and J tonight. H is at work and E is sleeping at her mates - she's got a better social life than me.
J's just watching the Turtles on the telly while having a picnic tea while I faff around on the laptop. No doubt he will want to sleep in my bed, he always does when its just me and him but I have to move him to his bed when I go to bed because he snores and is a bed hog.
Can't be bothered to cook for myself tonight so my tea will be a sandwich.
Then an early night with a book - rock and roll.
What about you?

Hey sleepy, I know what you mean about going to bed when H is out, I only don't like it because I know he'll come in steaming drunk and make a racket and turn on all the lights and I worry he won't lock the door so its easier to stay up until he comes in if I know its not going to be too late.
I enjoy my nights in bed on my own when H is at work, I usually have a great nights sleep, although not with J hogging the bed.

he normally work until half 9 most nights and i do enjoy having that time to myself i just dont like the really late nights.
i know what you mean about coming in drunk he came in at 2 this morning and decided to starting singing along to the radio, a tiny part of me enjoyed knowing he was going off for a 12hr shift on a hangover this morning!

My H does 2 night shifts a week and I enjoy the time to myself - well one the kids are in bed anyway. I don't mind when he works a Friday night shift but I'm not keen on a Saturday or Sunday night, I find them boring.

my H does a shirt pattern on a three week rotation, working two weeks worth of evenings out of 3 and works one weekend in three, but no nights.
the thing I find most annoying is that he doesn't get bank holidays off except over Christmas as its seems all my friends are out doing family things and we are on our own.
although I do spend a lot of evenings alone his shift means he can be really involved in doing the school runs and going to events at school which is nice.
My H is also out tonight, not expecting him home until 1am! I have to admit, I don't particularly like being on my own during the night. I'm quite happy on my own in the day but at night it feels different. Probably because I worry about him getting home and can't really settle until I know he's got home ok. I also worry about him not locking the door, etc so I often get up and check when he gets in. I'm so tired tonight I'm hoping once I go to bed, I'll sleep really well.

sleepy my H is a fireman so does 2 day shifts, 2 night shifts then has 4 days off so its handy to have him around during the day for school runs etc but I know what you mean about bank holidays, if his fall on a bank holiday I feel a bit left out when I hear of people going out for family days.
If he can't get Christmas off (he's put in for it) he'll be working Christmas Eve (9am-6pm), Christmas Day (9-6), Boxing Day (6pm-9am) and the 27th (6pm-9am) then NYD (9am-6pm)
Hi WG, hope you manage to get a good nights sleep and H doesn't wake you when he gets in - hopefully not too drunk.

I'm around. The baby* went to bed a bit late tonight as she had a late afternoon nap so wouldn't have been snoozy enough for her normal bedtime. We've just been catching up on telly and now sat waiting to watch the Last Leg on c4. I've had a cough all week and have pulled a muscle in my back which feels like a hot poker stabbing me when I cough and move, so I'm a bit immobile at the moment :(
Hope you all get on alright without your H's. I don't mind H not being here at bedtime, but its not very often so I quite enjoy having the bed to myself for a night or two!
* Should I really be calling her a baby when she'll be 1 in 10 days time??
