You all know about L's humping cup don't you? I think it's time we took it away from him but I don't want to wreck his sleep. The skin above his willy is getting a sore, like hard skin, when he humps his cup all the time. But he can't sleep without it, it's like his little relaxation thing.

Eh?? Is this going to be a reason I'm glad to have girls?

I've never heard of the humping cup?

How can you not know about him humping his cup?! He's been doing it since he ditched the bottle! He takes a beaker to bed, lays on it and humps and wriggles til he falls asleep.

I didn't know about the humping cup but then I haven't been around that long. My friend's son humps/grinds his bed when he goes to sleep. As far as I know he is still doing it and is 6.

So I could remove the cup and just let him hump the bed. That's cool, can deal with that. It's the sore skin I'm worried about.

Oh I've not heard of this. Have you suggested to him about not having it any more? What's his reaction? Maybe you could do some kind of reward chart so that he gets a sticker for every night that he doesn't have the cup without making a fuss? Or offer to buy him a new toy that he wants when he gives it up?

I've told him he needs to have a cup for bed soon, not the beaker and his response was "but mummy that will make my bed wet when I cuddle it" I did laugh at his answer.
I'll bring it up again and definitely do a reward of some kind.

Id' never heard of the cup either. S is a humper, i thought it was just that he was strange, i'm happy to know that other boys hump. Thankfully he's never humped a cup, he has humped E's rag doll, and he humps the floor.

You make it sound like he's some kind of weirdo Chids?!

Aw, I like Lou's humpa cup

TBH Belle, i did think that S was weird. I didn't realise that from such a young age that the need to hump was in them. I thought it was something that came to them as teenagers going through puberty, not my nice little one year old baby. You've reassured me, that actually S isn't weird.

Belle, i missed the cup humping too. Can you stick some sudocreme on his willy? The reward idea might work. Lots of girls do it too. A girl in Es class rubs herself against the edge of the table- her mum was mortified when the teacher told her but she told us all at a coffee morning as she was worried there was something wrong with her daughter! My friends son humps his bed after school. Apparently he's like clockwork every week day! E hasn't shown any jumping desires yet. Maybe M will though!

I've not heard of L's humping cup either.
A reward system might work. Neither of mine have shown a desire to hump.
