M asked for ballet shoes for Christmas. I've just wrapped them and found two pieces of elastic inside each one, what am I supposed to do with those?!
She doesn't actually go to Ballet, so I can't ask the teacher.

You have to sew them when she has them on to make sure they fit ok xx

What? Sew shoes? What?

Ok deep breath. Where do I sew them? Does this mean she won't be able to wear them on Christmas day? Is it a bad idea to put them in her stocking?

This has a wee demo on it. Luckily my little girls recent shoe's elastics were all ready attached however I have spent many moments sewing elastics on!

I used to do ballet. how cute that your little girl has asked for shoes. Or you can sew ribbons to do the criss cross lace up effect around the ankle.

Darn it, it seemed like such an easy present!
Thank you ladies.
Carole it is cute, she just wants to dance around the house in them!

Its simple I promise - I was perplexed when I bought Evies, I had to aske the teacher if they were broken!

Yes, I stared at my daughter's ballet shoes and had no idea what I was supposed to do with those bits of elastic. Its easy to sew but you ought to pin them when she's wearing them to get the best fit. She'd be fine with them just tucked in on Christmas day.
