It feels like years since I had a teeth question!
Jack is six and has been desperate for a wobbly tooth. He still doesn't have one, but he does have a big tooth growing through behind one of the front centre bottom baby teeth. The baby teeth are still firmly in place, but the big tooth is about 2mm through. Should I worry about this as surely it will grow wonky? I guess I'll have to call the dentist on Monday but wondering if anyone has had this or knows about it.

That sounds normal to me. It will shove the baby one out eventually. The tooth fairy will soon be visiting.

Thanks Pingu. It's not bothering him at all and I didn't even realise until bedtime tonight. It just looks weird!

My daughter hasn't had this but quite a few of her friends have and I know they had worried too. Dentist said nothing to worry about and all has been fine - do wish my daughter had her big teeth waiting as the gaps can be there for a longgggggggg time!! Is exciting when the 1st tooth goes though!! - baby is growing up!

He so is growing up, and very fast! I love him being this age, but not sure I'm ready for the baby teeth to go yet! I'm glad if it's nothing to worry about though.

This happened when I was nine and I did eventually have to go to the dentist to have the tooth removed and gave me a hoorednous phobia of the dentist BUT they do it a lot more nicely now. But as he is only six I would hope it would come out on its own.

It's ok! The non- wobbly tooth is now wobbly! He's thrilled, I'm a little sad, 6 years has gone so fast .

Ah bless him!! I remember my daughter bring sooo excited but then it stayed wobbly for probably 3 months! I remember it getting so close to going that it was practically hanging on by a thread and feeling so sick!!! Then when it fell out I was so excited for her but so gutted as it really meant she was growing up! Think we are on tooth 8 now and a mouth full of gaps!
Also when I look back at pictures I can really see how her face has changed as her teeth have come out - hard to explain but I'm noticing it now with my 11 month old as he's started to get teeth! And when it does finally fall out you have to see what the going rate is with the tooth fairy!!

I won't tell him that it could be ages, he won't be happy with that! What is the going rate with the tooth fairy? I don't think any of his friends have lost one yet. I was thinking a pound?

Haha no don't tell him! His might be different because of his big tooth waiting anyway. We did £2 for the 1st special tooth and then its been £1 since then! She made me laugh after tooth no 2 and said one of the girls at school got money AND a present from the tooth fairy - we both said straight away that we didn't think our village fairy did presents too!!!!! Tooth had to be left in our room too as she didn't want anyone in her room while she was asleep!!! (Same rule applies to Father Christmas !)
