I've seen some mdf bits I'd like to get and personalise for the kids. The instructions say use a primer and acrylic paint. The mdf primer in b&q seems too expensive for the job. Do you really need to prime it? Can you use something other than 'mdf primer' Will it just take extra coats of paint if I don't? And what is acrylic? I know the tubes of paint in art shops are called acrylic, but I'd like to use the egg shell paint that we used on the walls, would that work do you think?
