As above really. My mum has booked a makeover and photo shoot for us both in Manchester next month. Am just debating weather or not to drive or get the train.
Is parking in the city easy to find? I think we need to be somewhere near the Arndale centre but not too sure.
Roughly how much will 5hrs parking cost?

There's a car park next to the M.E.N arena (it used to be boddingtons) and that's £3 all day and a 5 minute walk into the centre

I park at Manchester royal and get the bus in as have a staff pass so £17 a month ,
Parking is expensive, my sil uses the one next to chorlton st by station but I think that was £9 for 3 hours
Fm do you mean the actual men car park or the waste ground opposite? I can't go in the men car park as its so narrow, have you seen all the scratches along the walls?

The arndale has parking too but not sure how much.

CP yes there's a car park opposite the M.E.N on a wasteland. I always park in there when I go into manchester. I've never actually been in the M.E.N car park.
to actually park in the city centre itself is quite expensive I think. It's a few years since I've parked in the centre itself. Ive only done it once though and it cost me a fortune. I think there's one near Victoria station but think that's about a fiver all day and there aren't that many spaces

There's plenty of parking in Manchester but its very expensive, the Arndale carpark itself is about £9 for 5 hours. There are lots of carparks dotted around the outskirts of the city for £3/£4 all day but can be a bit of a trek in especially if you're not sure where you need to be x

Don't use the arndale asl it's really expensive. Use the waste land next to the m.e.n like others have said- it's really big so always find a space and a bargain at £3
Or you can park for free on the side streets on the right of the road that the £3 car park is on. H works off deansgate and parks on those streets every day for free. Saves us a fortune!

Thanks for those ideas. Will google map them and speak to my mum. I know it was £24 for both of us on the train but we'd have to get the bus into Leeds first from her house. I'd choose the train if I lived in Leeds too so I could have a drink but I'll need to drive back home anyway.
