I just have some questions if anyone has shared this delightful operation!! Bit of a longshot but I don't know anyone in RL who has had it done.

Thanks ladies xx
I'm two weeks on from having it removed via keyhole surgery. I'd been recovering well until my h went back to work Friday. O needed to go to hospital Sunday so I over did it with lifting the kids, the pram etc.
I feel awful today. I know what's that's down to though. My insides literally hurt and its not near any incisions.
Prior to that, and since the op I've had a really dull annoying ache in my back... Is that normal?
Why do they tell you not to lift anything heavier than a full kettle??
How long until you felt back to normal after the op??

From what I remember the back ache is normal, I'm sure I ached all over for a while afterwards. I was told not to lift anything heavy for about 6 wks! Not easy when I had a toddler and a 3 month old at the time, a bit like yourself. i think the no lifting is just a precaution as they've been messing about with your insides and it could take time for things to settle down again?
It did take me quite a few weeks before I felt totally normal again. I was up and about quite soon after but still very tender. Obviously you've also just had a baby so it'll be like a double whammy! Even though its keyhole surgery, it's still really a big operation so take it easy when you can x

6 weeks?!!!!!!! Wow! What about driving???
Am glad my aches and pains are all normal!!!

They didn't mention driving and can't remember exactly but I'm sure I only left it for a few days, probably a week at the most. All they told me to take when I left hospital was paracetamol and I had no follow up appointments either is that the same for you?

I left with tramadol and paracetamol. But yeah no follow up which really surprised me, especially as I'm feeling so rough now, I feel I could have done with a wrong the consultant post op. I've just lifted a bottle of squash and it killed. Defo overdone it the past few days!

I had mine out in Feb. I wasn't told how long not to lift etc but with my nursing background I was happy to do what my body would let me. I was more or less back to normal in a week when I no longer needed pin relief and was back running at 2 weeks. H went away after 1 week so I had no choice but to lift etc and was driving than too. I did however get niggles and they don't need to be near an incision as if you think about tithe incisions are just a hole to where they need to get so in between those holes under the skin has been disturbed and will be bruised and swollen and needs time to heal. Take it easy when you can as it cant be easy with a baby and toddler. I also had no follow up.
