Wonder of many will pull out because of what happened in Boston.

I wondered this too but I like how it is going ahead and Prince Harry is still determined to be there. If anyone goes along, stay safe. I'm sure security will be vigilant!

Security is ramped up in London this week because of the funeral tomorrow anyway and Sunday will be even more so.
One of the guys here is running and has pledged to match £ for £ of his sponsorship money....currently over £10k!

Bloody hell Belle, that's a great thing to do.
My uncle is running it. It's special for a few reasons: It's his 50th birthday on the day. He was supposed to be running it in honour of his wife (my aunty) to raise money for Anthony Nolan as she survived leukaemia 10 years ago after they found her a bone-marrow match. During his training he discovered he has Prostate Cancer but he is determined to still run and he is now splitting the money raised between Anthony Nolan and the Prostate Cancer UK charities.
I can't see him pulling out of the race.
I'm not sure yet if we'll actually go up into London with my cousins, but I suspect not because I don't want to have to take A on the tubes/trains and in the crowds (not a security thing, just hassle!).

My FIL & SIL are both running. H was supposed to be running too but he got injured a few weeks ago so has pulled out.

That's a brilliant amount and so generous, Belle. Good luck to Saisi's uncle and to raincloud's ILs. I want to do the marathon at some point in my life, I think the kids will have to be bigger due to the training commitments. I doubt many will drop out out of the marathon because of the actions of some nutter in Boston.

Jennilola's hsband is running in it

My friends H usually runs it. He has pulled out this year, as his family usually wait at the finish line for him, and the Boston bombings have made him feel uneasy.
