I've just booked tickets to take C to watch it tomorrow afternoon, he loves the TV programme so I'm sure he'll love that too!
I wondered what it's like if anyone has been?

No it's ont on near us as I thought Lou would love it. You've been to similar haven't you? I think it's fab they are diong all these theatres shows for the kids.

We're going to see it in July, can't wait I'm more excited than the kids!

We've been to gruffalos child, and the tiger who came to tea and he loved both of them. One of the theatres does fairly cheap £5 shows every so often too (nothing I've heard of before, and it's in the "Rehearsal room"), but I've left it too late to get tickets the last couple of times!

Mossy - C doesn't even know about it yet! Although I did mention it a few weeks ago, I then change my mine and we weren't going to go, but I decided today I'd take him.
Need to decide what to do about tea, it starts at 4.30, so we won't be home until probably 6.30- guess I'll have to give him something early.

Ooh, hadn't realised but this is on at our local theatre next weekend - might solve the what to get Jacob for his birthday dilemma! Will talk to H later, thank you ladies!

Margot - glad it's helped x
Belle - C would love that! Not too good for my diet though, although I guess I don't have to have one.

We went, with Sofa Leopard, Nala, WH's H and our lots.
The kids loved it. We all thought it was a tad weird.
I saw Peppa Pig, which I think was by the same production company and thought that was much better. But hey, I didn't go for my entertainment!

Ps. YouTube have clips if you search Ben & Holly Live so you can see the general idea.

That's great, thanks Rusty! It is a bit of a weird programme so I'm not surprised the stage show is also weird. I tried to watch the trailer on the website but it's blocked - I'll have a look on YouTube later. Looks like Peppa Pig will be near us early next year I'm guessing it would be the same production company seeing as they TV show is made by the same people.

Peppa pig one was puppets with people dressed in black moving them IYSWIM. B&H was people dressed up as the characters. I was rather freaked out that both Ben and Holly had boobs!!

we saw it last weekend. Like Rusty, I found it weird but M loved it. Thought the characters looked like thunderbirds as the masks just covered their faces to their mouths, so you could see the bottom of their faces moving when they talked.
There was loads of in your face merchandising too, including a guy walking up and down the aisles trying to guilt trip parents into buying stuff. I did buy M something, but then she wanted more and then they were selling helium balloons for a fiver on the way out the door cue a tantrum when I wouldn't buy one
I keep meaning to see what's on at the Edinburgh Fringe that I can take her to, there's usually some good kiddies ones but she's been a bit young up till now....must add that to my to do list!
05/06/2013 at 16:14
That's for that weekender - they always do have loads of merchandising at these sort of things! Fortunately C knows he isn't really going to get much!
That would be great to go to the Fringe, I guess there's loads of stuff to see there!
05/06/2013 at 16:20
Yeah I probably should have expected all the merchandising but I didn't really think about it! I didn't even have any money with me, luckily H was a bit more organised than me
that kind of thing annoys me though when you can't avoid it - it's like those rides that you stick a pound in that they always have at the door to supermarkets or in shopping malls, they are designed to make parents' lives more difficult than they already are! I used to tell her they weren't working and she was fine with that but she's wised up to it now
05/06/2013 at 16:24
I still won't put money in those machines, luckily C is happy just to sit in them a press the buttons most of the time! [mean mummy]

We're going to see it beginning July, it does sound weird but I bet DS2 will loveit!
