The bbc is carrying a story saying that a change in t&c's will allow them to sell and use your pics without notifying you. I don't use it, but if I did I'd be closing my account, especially if I had pics of the kids on there.

Yep I'd just started using it as well and is all pics of kids - not read the article yet but if that's the case will close the account. Surely they'll backtrack won't they?

I've just seen this on the news. I'm gutted I love Instagram. Luckily I don't have any pics of C though because my account is open for all to view. Still sucks though, I think ill be closing my account in the new year

I have resisted using it purely for this reason - you just don't know where the photos are going. I took one of a riverside scene just to play about with the colours and it looked great, far better than the existing camera in my iphone, but i just don't trust what is happening to the photos.

I use it ALL the time and I really like it but unless they change their t&cs and i can be sure the photos are safe, il be deleting my account

I use it but my account is protected because my phone pics are of the kids and aren't always the best; I've a reputation to keep up
If they carry these changes through then I will close my account. They have backtracked today though it seems blog.instagram.com/.../thank-you-and-were-listening smacks of publicity stunt to me. I'm more annoyed that they withdrew the Twitter API so Instagram photos don't automatically show up in tweets now - I can't be bothered to click through to another site to look at what's probably a photo of someone's cat 99% of the time.
Flickr has an app which links to your main Flickr account and I've discovered you can make edits on that, I'm registered with Getty on there so if someone wants to buy my poor quality phone pics I'd rather it was me that got paid for the privilege.

Sssh how do you protect your account on Instagram? I'm not bothered about closing it down but don't like how open it is at the moment!

Never mind, figured it out!
