I have been to A&E a few times but never admitted, once when I jumped onto an upturned plug and it went right into my foot, another time I slipped in the shower and put my foot through the side of the bath and another time when I was drunk and fell down an escalator and cut my head
I had a termination when I was young but wasn't kept in overnight, just had the procedure and was let out at tea time.
I was booked in for a breast reduction when I was 18 but was too scared and cancelled it twice. Then my H talked me out of it (selfish pig), wish I had of had it done now but I was scared of the op and staying in hospital away from home.
I've never had a broke bone either.

When I was 12, I went ice skating and broke my arm. Had to be put under, to have my arm twisted back in to shape, and had to stay in.
Had to stay in with C, when he was admitted too.

I stayed in two nights when I had my thyroid out last October.
I have stayed in two or three times with my eldest when he was admitted (first time - bad virus, everyone trying to rule out meningitis, luckily it wasnt; second time with croup, third time with a blood disorder - though maybe my husband stayed that night as i was heavily pregnant) and once with my youngest (dehydration due to d&v bug).
Hopefully wont be going back for a long long time! Not fun.

Pingu that's a lot of times with the kids, must be scary. I've only done it once with the kids, it was when E was 10 days old they admitted her for the night because she was projectile vomiting every feed then the next morning they found a heart murmur. Thankfully that's the only time.

She has the lowest blood level she's had since the transfusion, but seems ok in herself, so ok but not! Nothing I can do though, she'd just a human blood test pin cushion at the mo!

Lots of times, all for my back. I'm so used to staying in hospital but I hate the smell, it seems to stay on my skin for days after leaving.

Yes with suspected appendicitis when I was 10. Turned out I just needed a poo...
My dad included this story in his father of the bride speech!

Sorry WS. That made me smile.
Had my tonsils out when I was 19. That's enough for me.

I was in hospital as a child to have my gromits taken out.
Only other time was at the beginning of this year when my youngest child was ambulanced to hospital and we both spent a week in the high dependency unit there, scariest time of my life. I hope not to have to be there with any of my children ever again!

Yes recently over Xmas (except Xmas day)when I had a bile duct blocked with a gall stone. I sported the Bart Simpson look for ages.followed by severe pancreatitis. Not something I'd ever wish to go though again. Followed by a cholecystectomy in feb. I also had a dermoid cyst removed from an ovary back in 1996. I've stayed in with both boys. Ben when he was 6 weeks and 1 yr when he had suspected meningitis and jack at 3 and 9 to have a benign tumour removed from his ankle. And like cp said as a nurse I did plenty of night shifts.
