we are the same, I think our first 2 years together we made an effort and went out, but since then, we dont bother. Its a lot of money on nothing really isnt it. everywhere is super expensive for nothing really.

We do something small like exchange cards. I dont like the fact H feels he has to do something romantic on that day but I always appreciate him trying.
I might cook him a nice steak or something but I wouldnt go out for a meal x

We don't do anything either really. Maybe a card and a bar of chocolate if I feel like it. We made a bit of an effort the first couple of years but then stopped

Once I was really spoilt on valentines day, a meal a le tactic he and champagne at the savoy, h now says that nothing will ever top that so he doesn't even try we do get cards though, I'm not really fussed by it. now this year h has another test that day so we'll see how that goes!

It's only our second V-day together, last year we set a £10 gift limit and challenged each other to be creative. Hubby's birthday is just after V-day but he's working. I bought tickets for a play I knew he'd love and we decided to make a weekend of if. Friday 14th we've got carpet fitting in nursery and whooping cough vaccine, then train up to London for dinner. We're going to 2 shows on the Saturday, lunch and Tate Modern on the Sunday. Last little trip just the 2 of us. Am stupidly excited.
But if it wasn't his birthday treat weekend I'd be staying well away from all the restaurants; those awkward don't-usually-speak-to-each-other couples looking at other couples. I've seen that a couple of times and it's so cheesy!

God no. It's for teens, or young couples who fall for all that hallmark holiday rubbish.
Me? I'd prefer for my H to tell/show me he loves me off his own back, not because a day dictates he should.
My ex went in for all the V-day tat, it was nauseating. Although, I didn't decline his gifts of Tiffany necklaces, that would have been rude, haha.
My H and I exchange this message "happy almost pancake day".

We do a dinner the day before but that's it. Sometimes we don't even bother with that. We don't do it for valentines per say, it's just another excuse for a meal out for us!

I am, but not with MrDD! I've got a rehearsal so I'll be going there singing. We never really do much more than maybe have a slightly nicer than normal meal or takeaway, and exchange cards and small gift.

We will make a nice dinner together and prob do cards but that's it.
There's a local drive-in movie night which I'd love to go to, sounds cheesy but fun! I'll be having my feet up instead though!

We don't do anything either, after 21 years together we don't bother lol. Like the others we did exchange cards at the beginning 21 years ago but that soon stopped. I think valentines day is another money making day for card shops and the price of roses go up too, it's a con :-)

for the first time ever...yes we are doing something. we are going out for dinner & drinks. mum is having Twinklet & we will have a lovely night. hurrah.

H usually works. This year he's off, so will probably just have a meal at home and then sit and watch a DVD, that in itself is luxury for us at the moment. We do sometimes send cards, but usually joke ones rather than romantic stuff.
30/01/2014 at 09:31
I think H is on nights this year so no we wont be celebrating Valentines xx
30/01/2014 at 09:36
I couldn't think of anything worse than sitting in a crowded restaurant that night! H and I will exchange cards but that is about it.

No, just another day here, we've never done anything in nearly 12 years together.
