Crap, I've been working on a couple of things at work, and it seems like there's problems from both of them because I didn't test it all properly, or look back at the original specs of how it was supposed to be done. So fed up with myself, and wouldn't be surprised if I end up getting a b0llocking because of it, although my boss wouldn't normally do anything like that, and is going through a lot of personal stuff herself at the moment, but I can imagine a lot of people will be cursing me.
Feeling sick about it all now and just want to cry - luckily I'm still at home at the moment since I've got a docs appointment this morning, so don't have to face anyone yet (not that it affects anyone in my office, but I don't want to look like I've been crying in front of them)

soemtimes the buidl up to stuff like this is worse than actual event. Hopefully now you know you can get on and sort it out asap?

Thanks Carole - unfortunately I can't actually make the changes to correct it, it's other people who need to do it which makes me feel worse. We've been waiting for these changes for so long, and then I end up making a mess of it all, although the person who did the work should also have checked the specs to set it up right in the first place - luckily for him, he was just a consultant and isn't working for the company any more. I should have realised and checked it more thoroughly when he set them up completely wrong in the first place!
Just what carol said, I hope your boss is nice to you, they will know its not like you. Sending lots of be brave vibes, let us know how you get on x

Aw, try not to get upset xxx

maybe you suggest the consultant should have been more thorough? we are all only human x

feeling upset is ok too, it's a sign that you like your job and want to do your best. Better to be like that than arrogant and dismissive.

People will understand if you don't normally make mistakes like this, you're only human after all. Just weather it through, do the best you can to make plans to deal with it. At least you'll always double check now. :)

I'm going to try and speak to my boss if I can this afternoon (she's in the US so not many hours we're both at work) - I need to talk to her anyway.
raincloud - absolutely, I'll definitely be a lot more careful with testing stuff like this.
