I've had a bad lower back since Friday, its really getting to me now. It's just a constant ache that won't go away. It hurts when I sit down, stand up and lie down, although it isn't as bad when I'm in bed.
Its all in my lower back and now and again I'll get shooting pains in my bum and down my legs and today when I was standing in a shop I felt it round my front as well.
Any ideas? Would you go to the GP? I'm not sure if they can actually do anything about it?
What pain killers have you taken?

Paracetamol and Ibuprofen.

Could be trapped nerves. Id go chiropractor rather than doc. You got privats healthcare?

No private healthcare Belle.
I was thinking of going to a Physio, I've seen one before via the GP for a bad back.

If you are taking paracetamol 4 hourly and ibuprofen 8 hourly and still in pain see the gp for something stronger and he can refer you to physio x

God I'm in agony this morning, I've been in work and hour and a half at my desk and I'm in so much pain.
I've got a doctors appt for Monday to ask for some stronger painkillers and I've also got the number of the Physio Dept and I can self refer so I think I'll do that, can't cope with this pain every day.

You can buy covodamol over the counter so try that till Monday its the lower dose than the gp can give you though but its a start, Heat packs are good too. Dont be tempted to lie in bed/couch though, best to keep active (obviously gently active no blooming lifting etc)

Champion, I'll get myself to the chemist tonight. I can't be too active today as I'm tied to my desk but I'm trying to get up and move around a bit more than usual.

Hope the painkillers help and that the physio/gp can help quickly x
