I'm doing biscuits for Children in need at C's nursery. I'm using ready to roll icing to decorate....how do I stick this to the biscuit. And what sort of icing would I use on top of the ready to roll??
im a novice so idiots guide please!!

1. a bit of melted smooth apricot jam is usually what you use. or you could dab a bit of icing sugar mixed with water to a paste to make a glue.
2. Do you mean that you want to decorate on top of the ready to roll icing? You can buy icing pens to do detailed designs.

Yes, as carole says if you want to decorate on top then buy an icing pen or you can get these decorating kits in the supermarket which have lots of different coloured icing in small tubes that look like lip gloss tubes.
Before you start make sure that where you are rolling out the icing is clear from any biscuit crumbs. I've managed to get chocolate covered crumbs embedded in my pink icing before now. Ready roll is really easy to use.

Have you already baked the biscuits? The best way to get the icing to stick is to put it on when the biscuits are still warm from the oven. If you are using the little tubes from the supermarket test them before hand, a few I have tried don't dry fully on get smudged when transporting.
