Did you enjoy PP world? Saw on another thread you had a bit of a disaster with stuff breaking?!! Did you like where you were staying, did L enjoy himself? Any tips for me going on a caravan break in a few weeks? Did you manage to keep warm?!

Oh lord it's not a holiday - a holiday is where you enjoy yourself, this was a break. A small trip to see family. And it was alright.
PPW Was OK. Lou had fun but I'd have been seriously peed off if we had made it a day trip. It's actually really small and Paulton's Park is pretty crap. He had fun, the girls had fun. We've done it. Worth £108? No. Go again? No. Legoland is way better.
Then weekend in IOW was alright. The caravan park was a hole. Thankfully we'd been given a decent silver chalet which had plenty of space and multiroom heating - having said that it wasn't actually cold. The entertainment complex was grim. The pool was big but the 4 kids slides were only open from 4pm to 5pm daily. And you can't use the showers to actually clean, just a rinse after swimming. So we had to schlep back to our chalet in the peeing rain to have a hose down with the poxy rubber hose attachment they gave us. The beach wasn't a beach. The bar overpriced as usual - thank god I take my own booze in my handbag - I'm all class! But IOW itself was beautiful. Lots of lovely food, views and a good catch up with family.
Roll on our real holiday in August!
Tips? Take loads of money cos you'll need it

Glad Lou enjoyed it! Think we may need more money! glad IOW was pretty its on my places to visit! Where are you off to in aug?, xxx

Lol you're really not selling it to me!! We spent a fair bit on food last year but not stupid amounts. Our kids are 5, 2 & 1 though so 1 kids meal between them and bits off our plate is usually enough. Shame the caravan site was crap, you live and learn! Glad you got to see family and L enjoyed PP world. You're the 1st person to not rate it highly though!
Glad it wasn't too cold, gives me hope for our holiday in 2 weeks! I bet you were glad it was just a weekend then, not a whole week!

i feel like i must rush and book this holiday now! NOT
PPW is only 7 little rides, it's a small area inside the park. For some reason I thought it would be bigger. It's not worth the price so go if your kids are under 1metre and get in free.
I normally enjoy these breaks but this was just horrid so defiitely happy it was only a weekend. Still £500 down the pan.
PJ - off to Spain in August for 2 weeks.

Well, you're really not selling it to me. I'm glad my LO isn't into PP, she's more into Thomas, so looking to take her to thomas world at some point.
As for Caravan holidays, we always seem to spend an absolute fortune if we holiday in this country. We're going to Spain in 4 weeks time, it's cost us £850 for two weeks for the 4 of us. Entertainment will be the pool and the beach (so free), and breakfast and evening meal is included.

Exactly Chids! We spend less abroad than we do here.

PP World sounds dire. Been thinking of places to take J for his birthday, shall cross it off the list.
IOW is beautiful though. I think I went there in 2002, was gorgeous.

We do too Belle, and you know you're going to get the weather too.
16/04/2013 at 14:47
Lol Belle, I love your description. I never ever spend as much as you ever on hols over here. I don't cook either, but tend to drink more in the caravan than the bar. You have the older ones as well though, I only have Liam and he is cheap still
16/04/2013 at 14:50
Oh that's disappointing. I was thinking of taking T for birthday but maybe we'll do Lego land instead. We've not been there either..
That is a lot of money for the weekend but like you say at least you spent some nice time with family etc x

Fi I take my own booze in the bar - I buy one glass of wine then refill with me own - I'm all class! We do have 2 teens to pay for as well though although we only ever paid for 3 meals out every day..
Lauren - legoland is great and Little Dish have Kids go free vouchers so def worth buying of one those!
16/04/2013 at 14:57
I think that it must be the teens that cost more £
Legoland, was Lou able to get on the rides? I heard that there was a height restriction
Yeah he got on loads but he's tall anyway isn't he.

As you know, Liam is lego daft, but I don't want to trail down there if he is still too small, might do it next year
16/04/2013 at 15:20
Oh really, yeah il grab a few of those then. My nephew will be coming too thanks!
16/04/2013 at 15:21
Ohhhhh Spain sounds lovely. Is it hard work with the kids though?! I just know from last summer constantly putting sun cream on sun hat ect. I was pregnant and big r was 8 months and into everything. That's what puts me off from booking abroad for a few years. Pj xx

It's a very god offer actually as the child can be up to 15 who gets the free entry.

I love going abroad with Liam, he has great fun PJ
