What are you doing for them this year? I think that I am going to just do the hall party again. He will be at the Pre-School attached to his Primary School, so I can get to know some of the parents because it won't be very often that I am doing the school run sadly

Errrrm, do I need to start worrying about this now?!?
When C was younger (until he was about 6/7), I hired a hall, bouncy castle and giant garden games. They all liked just running around, more than the structured games, so it was a winner.

I don't know BW, I am an organiser though. AK, if I had a child in the summer months, then maybe, sadly, L's parties all have to be indoors

I did a big hall party with bouncy castle for F last year (5th birthday), I won't be doing it again as I've got 3 girls who will all expect the same - imagine the cost of 3 proper kids parties a year!!! I've said she can pick up to 3 friends and we can do something like cinema/bowling followed by Pizza Hut.

Am I awful. Neither of mine have ever had a party - E will be 3 in a few weeks and L will be 5 in November.....

Well I've just seen Belle's comment about booking halls on the other thread, and given she's a couple of miles from me, I'm going to guess its a bit of a problem! Plus her birthday will (in all likelihood) be in half term, which adds another dimension. Given she'll only be 2, I think a couple of hours at soft play will suffice. Hopefully.
Ha, I have had one every year for L so far, so thought that I might as well go for it this year as well. Next year, he will have more set friends, so we can do the smaller thing (unless he requests a big one, who am I too stop him) lol lol lol

I think I haven't done it because I wouldn't know who to invite!! My family is tiny so my poor kids only ever have old crusties over to celebrate!! I am sure we will do something for L this year given that he will be at school and have some good pals by then.
AlisT you're not awful, last year was F's first party and she was 5, it was really because she got invited to sooo many that I felt like I needed to reciprocate! This year nearly everyone has done the smaller parties at home thing with just a few friends.

Can you do soft play parties where you are BW? I hired a hall with loads of softplay stuff and a bouncy castle for L's 2nd

AlsiT, Liam and I would love to come if you have one
Thanks MossyE, I think I will be in the same boat. His birthday is the day after Halloween so I know what the theme will be already

Oh god L's in Halloween ha
it was one of the first things I realised when C was born - set for a life of fancy dress and trick or treating for her bday!
kellfi, a mate did a soft play party not far from me for her son last year, so I think I'll be copying her!

C is a December Birthday, it was all indoors. I guess it was the "garden games" that threw you...

When he was one, it fell on a weekend, however, the other years, it has been on a weekday. Its on a Thursday this year, can't decide when to have it
Ha, could have been AK

F's birthday is 29th Oct, I offered to have her birthday party Halloween themed last year but no, she wanted to be able to wear a pretty dress instead!
