But I thought that you were going out for Christmas lunch x
10/12/2013 at 13:03
We were planning to but left it so late (thanks sis!) we couldn't book anywhere. Well the only place we could book is G's pub but it's a 30min drive away which meant 2 cars and 2 non drinkers so H said feck it I'll cook but make sure your mother doesn't turn up

Ha, was your mum at Lou's party
10/12/2013 at 13:17
Yes! Gawd it was awkward. She was telling anyone who would listen "an you sense the tension? oh you can cut the atmosphere with a knife"
10/12/2013 at 13:19
Oh god was she? Dramatic Did D speak to her?
10/12/2013 at 13:52
Being nosey - doesnt your H get on with your mum?
10/12/2013 at 14:18
Ha totally dramatic, at least she put a brush through her hair unlike my dad - god he's such a tramp!
Rod loooong story. I've never been close to my parents they are very selfish and just take what they can from me but H has always bit his tongue and put up with them for me. For years they've been coming to ours for Christmas, would rock up o the day at 2pm the time we've said dinner is served, eat, dad falls asleep mum winds everyone up. It's hard work. For mum's 50th we took them all (my brother included) on holiday for two weeks. All they did was bicker and argue with mum threatening to slit my dads throat whilst he slept! yadda yadda yadda. H told them a few home truths and mum got upset lots of awkwardness. They'd still come for Christmas after that. Anyway in March this year my sister split with her partner and he kicked her & their two girls out. She was in bits and needed somewhere to stay. She asked mum who said No. (at the time mum was receiving benefit as she was unemployed & thought she would lose her benefit if she had more than x number of people in the house living there). Me and H went mental at her. I tore into her so much I was furious How can anyone be so selfish to refuse their own flesh and blood let alone 2 kiddies a bed for the night. No excuses, that's all that was needed a bed for the night so the real logistics could be looked at. Sister and her kids ending up living with us for 4 months. We bought a £95 Ikea sofa bed for the dining room and they all kipped in there. My life was turned upside down as G had just come back to live with us also and I'd started my new job only 2 days before. But we did what was right and what needed doing. Since then my husband and sister haven't spoken to my mum at all. Mum keeps trying to find out why, she can't see what she did was wrong. I'd told her a few times over the period of me trying to fix things (why is it always me fixing things) that she needs to make more of an effort with her grandkids but her response was well you all know where I live. So there you have it, our children aged 7,4 and 2 need to travel to see nanny cos she can't be fecked to come see them.

Ha, my dad is sometimes the same. He wears a hat though.
Did she get Lou a present?
10/12/2013 at 14:33
She gave him £20 in a card.
10/12/2013 at 15:04
Oh well, he can get what he wants with that :)
10/12/2013 at 15:05
He did. He bought Pumpaloons, it was crap so we returned it and he chose Pig goes Pop, that broke so need to return that tonight for some Cow game he's seen.
10/12/2013 at 15:19
She sounds a treat!
I dont speak to my mum, I think H feels he's had a lucky escape!
10/12/2013 at 15:20
Lols. How rubbish! Does he take ages choosing? L does
10/12/2013 at 15:37
God yes, takes an age choosing everything from cereal to what he wants on his toast!
10/12/2013 at 15:38
It drives me crazy
The only cereal that L will have at the moment is Sugar Puffs.
10/12/2013 at 15:41
Coco pops here loves em! We go through a family box a week.
10/12/2013 at 15:45
It used to be Frosties, but now Sugar Puffs. He used to eat weetabix as well actually.
Rod, thats a shame about your mum.
10/12/2013 at 15:56
She's not a very nice person Kelfi. Don't feel too bad!
10/12/2013 at 16:12
As long as you are ok about it
11/12/2013 at 10:34
Its my choice not to see her. I cant have people like her around me. She 'doesnt know what shes done' calling me up my own *** and saying I think I'm so effing special clearly has slipped from her recollection.
