Who saw this last night? Those poor innocent children, I don't know where to begin. I was so angry and upset. There is absolutely no excuse for living like that. None whatsoever.

The place and the kids were filthy...seriously you can be clean quite cheaply...smart price soap, deodorant and tooth paste for you and smart price bleach for your home. There is no excuse. Especially when you seem to be able to afford fags and booze. That health visitors eyes pooped out her head when the woman told her she lets her 5 and 2 year old play out the front!

Munchkin he was 3 - Gerard is 5 and plays out in the street in the dark on his own. He then gets battered by his mother for leaving his bike up the park

No wonder the hv looked so shocked. I couldn't believe he didn't go to bed till 5am! The dad never seems to look as rough as her or the kids!

I know 5am bed then they were struggling to get him ready for nursery at 8.30am - poor boy. They have no hope do they? What have they got to look up to - whose footsteps are they going to follow in? Funghi? FFS!

When the narrator said..."Callum has a particularly close relationship with Funghi, who has three kids of his own, who is isn't allowed to see"...I couldn't help but roll my eyes!

Did you ever know Ricky Rainbow of Shoulder & Mutton?

21/01/2014 at 10:31
He used to doss down everywhere - was a right trippy looper - just like Funghi!

My house is a bit messy at times but that was just disgusting. Neither of them worked but were happy to live like pigs. urghh and locking the wee boy in between the doors. God they are vile people.

I turned it off half way through cos I was fuming. Those lazy tw@ts didn't go to work yet the still couldn't be bothered to take the boy to nursery. A total disgrace, there's no excuse for how filthy the house and the kids were. They are just being dragged up. Then the other little boy who was out on his own sitting with the blokes smoking and drinking. Poor little things don't know any different and they'll end up the same as their parents, so sad.

I've not watched it. It's sensationalist TV at it's worst. If things like that are happening to kids, the TV crew should be reporting it to social services or the Police not standing by and filming it.
IMO behaviour is learned, I don't doubt that the parents are awful but where did they learn how to behave like that from? You feel sorry for the poor kids now but in 10-15 years time they're on course to be the next bunch of "lazy tw@ts" on Benefits Street because they had a sh*t upbringing that no one did anything about.

That's exactly our point Sshh.

Editing is awful.
In the first ep, funghi's friend stole some pot plants, and legged it incase he got beat up, but was in last nights ep.
Mark, the work shy Dad of the 2 little kids had no hair when the HV was there, then a head full when he borrowed Dee's laptop, then a shaved head, then a full head of hair...
When watching it, i was getting so annoyed at the hovel those poor kids have to live in. My H said "you're dying to get in there and clean, aren't you?" haha. He almost made a comment about the 3 yr old having a dummy, until he remembered his own son had one at that age...
And missing nursery/Docs appointments??? Not surprised when the poor wee soul isn't going to bed until 5am.
