In your experience, what's the best washing detergent and fabric softener for eczema/sensitive skin? I know that everyone's different and all that but I'm just wondering whether any particular brands stand out more than others.

SurCare or Fairy was all I could use for L as a baby. Thankfully he's grown out of it now.

I've not heard of that one, might have to give it a go. Something has set F's skin off again and I'm not yet sure what it is. Thanks Belle.

Surcare - amazing. Now B is older he's ok with Daz, but up to about 4 could only do surcare.

I've just beel looking at Surcare online - did you use both the detergent and softener? Does it smell pleasant?

Its unperfumed as generally its the perfumes that cause allergies

I use Surcare too. It's good. E gets a bit of eczema and is allergic to other washing powders. She's fine with Ecover and Method - they're good too. I use Ecover fabric conditioner. The one with the yellow top smells lovely.

Surcare seems quite popular then.
At the moment I'm using a Waitrose senstive fabric softener but the problem with these unperfumed things is that they don't really have a smell (which I guess is they whole point!) but I do love my washing to smell nice lol.
I'm tempted to give this Surcare a go and see how he is with it. Trial and error, eh!

I used Surcare detergent and no fabric conditioner, my HV told me not to use them, even the sensitive ones. I now use Ecover detergent and it smells lovely. It's initially expensive but it's cheaper on a wash by wash basis than others.

Surcare detergent but not softener. He didn't get on with softener (any softener, even now) and actually didn't get on too well with the liquid detergent. Guess it clings to the fabric more? So it was the surcare powder for us.
