What board games are a hit in your house?
J is just starting to get into 'proper' board games so I think my mam could maybe buy him some - they are 2 for £20 in Argos.
Has anyone got Junior Cluedo? What's it like? We like normal Cluedo but its too old for J but we like Junior Monopoly.
We've got Guess Who, Connect 4, Junior Monopoly, Yatzee, Frustration, Operation, Twister, Jenga, Hungry Hippos, Hedbandz, Don't Panic - some of which J can play, some he's too young for.
What's your favourites? They need to be interesting enough for E (nearly 10) to enjoy and easy enough for J to play.

We're just starting on games and L has:
Shopping List, Dotty Dinos, Wild Lotto - all Orchard
Hungry Hippos which we lost all the balls to
I've bought him Monster Surgery, DohNutters and Funny Faces for Christmas and friends are buying Gooey Louie and Guess Who

They might both enjoy 'What a performance' which is an orchard toys one. You have to do things like make a noise like a sheep or a lorry reversing and the other players have to guess it. Its good fun and everyone has to be silly with it.
We've also got 'If you see a crocodile' which is a good one but would probably bore E.
J is a bit young for it, as you need to be able to read, but Pit is a good card game to play with E. You have to swap cards to collect a set, and to swap the cards you shout out the number you are swapping, so it involves lots of noise. Although if someone teamed up with J then he could do the shouting. This is how we used to play it with my daughter until she was quick enough at reading to play it herself.
Kerplunk is OK but takes longer to set up than to play.
Or look at Sorry which we've got an older version of but they seem to have reissued. You have to move all your pieces round the board but other players can knock yours off (only play this one if you have a child who can manage having their pieces returned to the start)

Tumbling monkeys is another good one that is easy for younger kids to do.
