It's alright. It's for the kids that's what you need to keep telling yourself.
What accommodation have you booked? Have you gone for a dining 'kids eat free' type package?
The place is massive & they have loads going on at once so you need to work out what y0ou want to do and get there early.

we are staying in the shoreline hotel and have booked the breakfast package.
Do you get a timetable of events when you get there?

That's better accommodation than ours so that's good I was going to say upgrade LOL!
Yes when you check in they give you a brochure with all the events on. It gets so busy we'd have the girls saving seats for us at one show so we could then fly round to that after our show had finished! The free funfair rides are good to keep kids busy, but tons of arcade games and sweet machines as well. The pool is big and really busy all day long. It's right on the beach so we took a stroll along and a train back everyday.

We weren't in a hotel so ate in the buffet restaurants on site - was ok. Bog standard serve yourself fry up, roast dinner carvery, lasagne, soups etc. Also had Annabel Karmel for kids IIRC We were given allocated eating times though, like an hour window we had to be seated by so we ended up buying more food from the fast food outlets or on site pub / restaurant.
You can't really gauge spending money from me, we always overspend, think we done about £400 in a weekend bearing in mind we had free activities, and had already paid for food.

We went to Butlins twice last year, stayed at the Wave and OCean hotel , half board. When you stay in the hotel you get to go to the pool at 'hotel residents' only times. There is also a tots session in the morning.
We really enjoyed it, and staying in the hotel made it feel more like a grown ups holiday, I stayed in chalets years ago and wouldn't do that again. There is loads to do for the kids, and because they are entertained all day it makes it enjoyable for us too. Soft play, funfair, puppet shows, character shows, The character breakfast is good too, I think you can only book that if you stay in the hotel.
We found the food in the ocean hotel a lot better than the dining room package, you may find the shoreline the same. It was a bit more 'a la carte' than the school dinner type meals they serve in the dining room.
