We are off to butlins (minehead) mid of feb for a Friday -Monday break. We are going with my sisters and their kids.
R will be 18 months, will there be much for him to do?? I have never been (except when I took kids from school but didn't really do much) so I have no idea what's around or how much money I should be taking. We have got breakfast and dinner included. What will we be able to do and how much money should we roughly take??

Hey Pj, we went bognor last Easter. Was ok but TBH we prefer smaller caravan parks. There was so much going on at Butlins you are literally running around all day. A lot of timings clashed too so we didn't get to do everything we wanted. Of an evening there were 3 entertainment things going on at once so we and if you left your table it was nabbed right away. We missed the disco the first night cos we were watching a character show as an example. In terms of stuff to do for free that's all very good plus you can buy passesfr extra stuff like karting cinema etc.
We had the food package too which did save money but your given a time slot so if its early you will end up in burger king at 10pm lol. What accommodation you in?

And as for money we did about £350 (long weekend break 2 adults 2 teens 1 toddler).

Thanks belle, we are in an apartment. (I don't really remember but I know we had to get one that had microwave to sterilise bottles!) yes I'm the same, but all nieces and nephews are older so will enjoy it there. We have booked to go to Wales in April for a caravan stay which will be quieter I think. Lol, my H will be the same I'm sure, I'm thinking we need more money for him more than anything! Less money than I thought though, we probably won't spend that either as we be 2adults, toddler and baby.
Will try and do the free things like you say and work out timings so we can see different shows ect. I'm sure H will be running around with him while I'll be changing and feeding R! Am looking forward to it but think it will shatter us out! X

We went to the one at Skegness last year. It was not our thing at all but L (3 at the time) and our niece (7) loved it. Alcohol was VERY expensive, there was queues for everything, not a nice single line type queue, just absolute carnage, the entertainment people actually go from about 4pm so they can get the tables right near the dance floor.
The characters etc were good and L did the football and hired a bike. Our niece did a sort of jet ski activity which was good as it was when the swimming pool was closed so there was only 5/6 of them in the pool.
The accommodation was very very basic. People there at the time had booked upgraded accommodation and it was no different other than a microwave. But tbh it was only somewhere to sleep so we didnt mind.
I'd take as much if your own food as you can. The prices there for food are ridiculous and its stuff like fast food and very basic pub grub, which you can put up with for a few days but the queues were awful. The main eating place had people queuing right round the block.
It was ok, I found haven better but tbh if I got another sun deal I'd go back for a short break as L and our niece loved it. There was loads for them to do.
