Apologies for those who've seen it on facebook.
This is P and my horse this morning and it makes my heart melt. I've had my horse a long time and he's very important to me. He's a big, strong, fit competition horse but he is SO kind and gentle with P. She adores him, she squeals and laughs her head off when she's anywhere near him. She's desperate to pat him and sit up on him all the time. This photo sums it up. We walked him out to his field like this.

I love seeing photos of P and B together, it's utterly amazing that he is such a gentle giant with her!

AR- actually wanted to ask you a question! E is absolutely horse mad! We took her to a newly opened stables a couple of weeks ago (in very hot weather) so that she could spend time with some beautiful horses, she was smitten with them and had a meltdown when we had to go home and couldn't put the horses in Daddies car, or keep them in our apartment! We were hoping she might have had chance to go on a pony ride (as per the website and this is something we have done back in the UK) but they were huge race horses and there was no way we could let her go on them despite the owner insisting she'd be fine We are considering riding lessons for her next autumn/winter but wondered if at the age of 3 she would be a bit young? Any advice? H is worried that it is just a phase and she will get bored as she gets older (I actually think he is more concerned about her loving it so much, it'll cause a big dent in his bank balance one day!)

Thanks malteser. He's a bit grubby in this photo but he scrubs up well!
Ws - Haha you are right, getting her hooked is a dangerous game, it's about the most expensive hobby you can have!! I bet my parents wish i'd never had those first lessons, they had no idea what they were getting into! Well i started at 4 and P will probably be aboard properly from this summer. I'd say there is nothing wrong with starting at 3 at all, as long as the place you go is used to having such little ones. I have no idea what the set up is over there, in some countries they have very few little ponies and even the kids ride horses. In which case i'd say wait. I would also recommend getting her her own hat if she has a few lessons and is keen. They aren't cheap but so so important, possibly even a little body protector too. Not sure on what you can get out there and standards as they need to be properly fitted. Might be something to get when you are back here. send me a message on fb if you like, or closer to the time.

Awww so cute! HeS such a good boy.
I miss my horse like crazy! I take my hat off to people who manage kids, horses and jobs! E absolutely loves animals but especially horses!
Ws - I'm starting riding lessons with E from her 2nd birthday in a few weeks. I don't think it would sit comfortable with me putting her on anything too big so young though.
