Double sided tape on the edge of the work top. IT freaks them out something chronic when they jump up and it sticks to their paws.
Now can you help me stop my cat randomly weeing around the house?

I'll give that abash! And that's weird, so you have a litter tray? Does it only happen during bad weather?

We have litter trays because she is a housecat and doesn't go out. It has started in the last couple of months. I need to make a vets appointment for her to get checked out. It is a long story but it's really weird and annoying!

Very odd for her not use the tray! My vet said sometimes cats pee inside if they don't like the weather outside, but itcantbe that. Mysterious!

The house smelt of wee and I eventually discovered she had been weeing on the bed in the spare bedroom Goodness knows for how long. Cedar said her cat likes to wee on soft things but her cat is very old. Mine is 5...

QI, maybe she has a bladder infection so has a desperate urge to go sometimes? My girl cat is prone to infections but spends enough time outside that we don't usually have a problem in the house, but it could be that.
PB, we gave up on that battle years ago, and just give the sides and table a flash wipe before preparing or eating any food on them lol
And also, check out your mango lol

Nenas - cheers chuck. The bed that she ahs been weeing on is next to the cta tray so it's in theory not urgent need. She has weed on U's nursery bag. Another time she came into the room we were in and weed in front of us on a bean bag.

So probably not in that case then..! Vet should be able to give you an idea, hope you get it sorted!

Our cat doesn't get up in the kitchen because she can't jump up there anymore. She does think about it when we cook chicken which she loves but she doesn't do it anymore. The tape wouldn't solve jumping on the dining table in our house as she just climbs on the chairs so would step over the tape.
As for the weeing, we don't leave anything soft in the rooms shes in on her own and now make her go outside (especially when its snowing like it has today!). She is 17 though so although fairly active not as much as she was.
Doing it inside is often a sign that they feel threatened or are ill from what I've read. I think with our cat its an age thing and she doesn't like going through the cat flap.

Having googled where she is doing it is a sign of spraying but the quantity she is producing is a sign of ill health. I have ordered three feliway diffusers in case it is anxiety/stress related.
ETA I am partly assuming it is associated with the large Simese cat that has been harrassing my cats the last couple of months.

Sounds like it could be stress in that case, so the diffusers may help :)
