We managed to get a cheap deal for Centre Parcs in May. we are heading to Elveden Forrest....hope the weather is nice! Anyone got any Centre Parcs tips? We plan to do a supermarket shop enroute to save £ there. Have hired bike already. Planning to take our own travel cot and high chair.

My top tip- take a plastic jug for bathtime and hair washing. the only jug in the kitchen is glass.
you can hire push chairs (maclaren 6 month+)from the bike hire place so if your boot is full consider this.

take a couple of bag for life bags with you. you are charged for carrier bags in the parc market and even if you do a big shop prior to arriving you will need to stock up on fresh stuff. they are also handy for packing up at the end of the week- nothing ever fits in your car the way you originally packed!

How much have you paid - It's so expensive for school holidays which is a shame as everyone raves about it.
buy some monkey nuts to feed the squirrels outside your patio. this was luke's favourite thing.

I love it there, have had some really good holidays. Top Tips:
- Take your own food, the supermarket is a rip off. ok if you have forgotton something but other than that I wouldn't go in there.
- Eat in and drink out (they have a babysitting service which my friends have used and rave about)
- swimming is fantastic, free and wears out the littlies
- if you can take your own bikes, if not I would hire by the day. we were quite close and I am not a confident rider so I prefered to walk.
-pre-book any activities you might like to do, we did sailing and rock climbing when I went (was over 10 years ago)
(obviously I didn't mean hand feed the squirrels, we threw some outside and then sat and waited inside to watch them to come.)

Ha...last time I had fed a squirrel I had to go and get a tetanus!
Loving the babysitting service neen!!! You know we never get any time on our own xxx could be perfect!

Any time we've been there's been a cot provided in the lodge, so double check, it might save you having to take the travel cot.

Oh right that's great thanks weekender xx
20/01/2014 at 11:24

I'd take your own children's plates and cups and bowls and spoons though as the crockery tends to just be ceramic.

yep drop the cot and high chair - more room for wine and food

Love Center parcs! Elevden is my fav. Take some DVDs for the DVD player. They have some you can hire but they are rubbish.
If you're not against babysitting service def treat yourself to the spa ;)
Make sure you visit the pub by the spa. It's often forgotten about but is nice and away from all the hustle, has a kids play area indoors and does the nicest food you will find onsite.

Just back from Elveden a couple of weeks ago.
If you want a quick lunch, do Starbucks not any of the restaurants or the sports bar, we were late to a couple of events because we didn't allow enough time for lunch.
The pool is at it's quietest when is opens and after 6pm. It won't be dark in May but going round the rapids in the dark was cool too!
Do the cyclone!
If you order takeaway only order for half the number of people. I ordered for 10 even though we had 16 plus kids and we still had tonnes left over
The cots were fine btw.
Preregister yourselves and your car details, makes for very easy check in
If you're in the comfort/comfort plus type lodges try to get yourself something around #800, minimal distance from everything
