Stepson is a big Man City fan and wants to go to a game, H is looking at taking him to one in January, they'll go down the night before, stay in a hotel (H found a premier inn for £30 or something) then head to the game on the Saturday then home after that.
Is there any stuff they should do while they are there? Stadium tours or anything. I take it there'll be a club shop where he can buy stuff at the ground? Any other tips on what to do on the day to make the most of it because it's going to be a one-off treat as part of his Christmas.
At work today but will try to get back on this afternoon, otherwise it'll be this evening. Btw, if you take no interest and don't know then no worries - I wouldn't have a clue with footy up here! x

Sorry to gatecrash, not CP but I am a City fan so hope I can help
You can do a stadium tour, but not on match days so he wouldn't be able to do that but there's always stuff going on in the grounds before the match and yes there is a rather large and expensive shop to take all your spare cash! If he was up for it you could look into getting a hospitality package for the day, we did this for my Dad's 50th and you get a meal and match ticket so you can go in and out of the hospitality area and get drinks etc. and during the meal Moonchester comes and you can have a photo with him. The packages range in price as you can have a regular seat ticket or a box which is what we did for Dad but as he's a season card holder we got a good deal anyway. But have a look on the website as they show you the packages x
ETA - this is the hospitality bit of the website:
Looks like you have to ring or email them now, we did it online but that was back in '05 and as you know we're a bit more upmarket now! See what you think anyway, we had a good time as it was nicer than just going to the match and the food was lovely. Let me know what you decide to do for him x

My brother is a big City fan too and we did the hospitalility package for his birthday one year. He stayed right til the end and bumped intoDavid James (i think) and had his photo taken with him and autograph - he was made up!

Thanks ladies, I'll see how much it costs, he's only 9 so any other than the Legends option would be wasted on him. Shame they don't do stadium tours on matchday but it makes sense, there'll be enough going on without members of the public wandering around!
Will report back on what we decide :)

What age is he? Can he get his birthday flashed on the screen? U need to contact the magazine first.
Il ask my h when he gets in. Not sure if the youth academy is open Saturdays or he could have had a look round that. What time will they arrive on Friday? City train the other end if Manchester and my h tookL to a raining day.
I know L is only 4 but he's man city daft but my h wouldn't take him in the tour as he wouldn't get it till he was older iyswim.
If he's going to the premier inn I think he is then he can walk to the game.
There's loads of entertainment before the game and at halftime too.

Meant to say the shop in the ground is really expensive but upstairs there's loads of memorabilia that might be worth a look if they have time. Il speak to h in a bit.

It'll be late when they get down on Friday, H doesn't pick him up till half two then probably 4hrs to Manchester? So, not late but too late for tour or training ground.
The memorabilia stuff sounds good, H would like that too. He's 9, it's not for his birthday, it'll be part of his Christmas
Cheers ladies, this is all helpful - he's footy mad, will love it

Hey! Guess what? Just had an email from supporters club to say they've launched the new improved Stadium Tours and they now do match day tours! I tried to copy the link but it hasn't worked on my ipad so if you go on mcfc.co.uk and go into the 'club' link at the top it will take you to the three tour options and you can pick your dates and uy online x
