Since the falling out with my mum I've been having to clean the house myself (well with help of girls and my sister as she was staying) This week is the first I've had to do it and urgh I HATE CLEANING!
So I'm drawing up a chores list for the kids to do to earn their keep
Hoovering - upstairs inc bathroom, stairs, downstairs, inc porch - remember to hoover corners / ceilingsDusting - all skirts, shelves, TV cabinets, staircase, window ledgesPolish - shelves, ledges, cabinetsKitchen - washing up, wipe sides, set / clear table, wipe tableBathroom - inc mopping the floorLaundry - put out to dry / put away as and when
Have I missed anything?

Empty and wipe out cupboards once every 3/4 weeks.

Bins are H's job.
Kitchen cupboards are saved for half terms but shall add to list.
Clean the toilet (or is that included in the bathroom?) my toilet is separate.

We only have one in the bathroom.
Beds are my domain with laundry.
Washing up is in list already.
Seems like that's everything covered eh?

Window cleaner does windows. I wouldn't expect them to do them, they are only teeny

J cleans our patio doors, he loves doing it, haha. Well, he does the bottom half, I do the top.

Start em young AK!

Best way. J loads and unloads the washing machine too.
I don't trust people to do my chores. I'm quite anal about my cleaning, nobody reaches my standards.

Clean tv screens, mirrors, glass doors? M gets handprints everywhere, the little bu99er
26/04/2013 at 12:03
Oh yes mirrors! (although I was very impressed eldest used her noddle and used the glas spray for the bathroom mirror last night!)

Shower screen in bathroom, my h had no idea this needed to be cleaned
Washing up and putting dishes away (my h also hadn't idea lol)

I know you've put wipe sides etc in the kitchen, but what about a proper clean of the sink and surfaces etc - I always use bleach at least once a week (well, the cleaner does) but I know not everyone likes to
Cleaning the oven? (not that ours gets done very often!)
26/04/2013 at 12:51
The kitchen is one area they do already and having a new sink and sides they know what to do / not to do.
I wouldn't ask a child to clean the oven, not with this harsh chemicals. Also we don't clean ours as it's so old - still need to buy a new one!

Missed the bit about the kids doing it, oops! Obviously not something you'd get them to do!
