We've been invited to a christening for 3 siblings - all girls aged 5, 3 and 8 months old. I have never been to a multiple christening before and don't know what to buy! We are not close friends or anything and I don't want to spend lots of money, is it possible to get them a present between them?? Or is this tight? I think the mum has told someone else they would quite like money for the kids but how much - this is going to be an expensive christening to go to isn't it!!!

What about a christening photo album, that would cover all three of them? I really appreciated the one I was bought. Or if you want to give money hmm no more than a tender each I would say especially as you're not close. Bit cheeky of the mum to send out requests isn't it?! I didn't even think about what presents N would get, it didn't enter my head and I was really grateful for everything he was bought or given.

an album? I agree that it should be about celebrating the day not the presents...but that's another debate!

Thanks guys, I hadn't thought of a photo album, that would be ok between them wouldn't it, if I got a really nice one? LB I was thinking it would have to be a tenner per child and I didn't really want to spend £30 on a christening present as like I said, we're not close, my 2 year old is friends with their 3 year old but that's it really! Right, any links to some nice photo albums please?

I would get a nice photo frame or something along those lines. I wouldn't give money. But I'm very predicable like that!

Thanks Shhh. I wouldn't mind giving money if it was just for one child but it'll be too expensive with 3!

I know I'm straying slightly, but it sounds a bit random inviting you at all and I would be a bit put out at 'having' to buy presents! I'm not stingy and love giving presents when it's my choice, but a christening should be a private family and close friends event IMO and this sounds more like an excuse for a party! I think a photo frame or photo album sounds like a lovely compromise - can be used for photo/s of all 3 girls/the family to commemorate the day.

It is definitely just an excuse for a party CV! I think they're doing it altogether to save money on paying for 3 separate christenings lol. I feel a bit put out at having to buy presents for the 2 out of 3 children who I have nothing to do with!

How about a photo frame with three spaces so they can put a photo of each in?
P.s. what a pain!

I always give books as Christening presents.

I would make my excuses not to go
What sort of books Belle?
