Of the pulling variety...
Do you buy cheapo ones, or splash out?
I buy them for C, he goes through around 4 boxes over Christmas, so always buy the £2.99 for box of 12 from home bargains. He never keeps the cr@p in them, so don't mind only paying a few quid. (although, I kept it all 1 year, as I was planning a piñata for his next birthday, and used the plastic rubbish, to fill it...) I also buy him a giant cracker each year. He gets more excited over that, than his presents. (he LOVES crackers)
We never buy them for the adults, but I quite fancy some posh crackers this year.
My sister paid £40 for 6 a few years ago, where you got quite decent "prizes" (one of them had an mp3 player in it), but I don't want to spend that much...

I buy mini kids ones for the tree, then mid range ones from Boots / Next / Sainsburys. My mum bought cheap ones one year and they didn't even bang when pulled! For me it's all about making everyone wear the silly paper hat.

I buy cheapy ones for the tree since we don't have dinner here I wouldn't splash out buy my mam buys decent ones, like Belle its all about the silly hats.

Yep, love the hats.
My Dad works in a paper factory, and one year, handed me 1000 silver paper hats.
I asked him what I was meant to do with 1000 paper hats. His response?
All at once!

Knowing my Dad, that was probably what he meant...

My uncle bought posh crackers from Harrod's once, no idea about the cost but the little gifts in them were not too bad and quite useful. If we were having people round I would buy those and some cheapy ones for children maybe.

I'd refuse to pull a Harrods cracker.
I'm still bitter that they never let me in the store, 12 years ago... haha

I normally get decent ones but in the January sales so pay next to nothing for them, not much help though sorry.
I quite like the ones with mini screwdrivers and stuff, randomly they come in quite useful when changing batteries in toys etc

The mini screwdrivers come in handy to tighten the screws in my glasses too... Haven't had any for ages though.

I got kids ones last year, they didn't have toys but sticker and a hat. they were great. I got them a few days before Christmas in Sainsburys so they were at least half price. For luke it's all about pulling the cracker not the contents so between the 3 of us we usually pull all 6.

We always forget to buy them! Two years back I got hotel chocolate in the salesas H was in afghan and we celebrated in February! They were rubbish mind! This year I'll go with mid range, no more than £10 for 6/12... If I remember!

Why didn't they let you in AK?
11/11/2013 at 13:31
I was wearing PVC trousers, a corset, and big biker boots, with spikes on...

Pah that's nothing! Last year when we went there were all kinds of track suits in there, proper gobby chavs *snob alert*

We had fun with some that had clockwork santas in the other year. You then had a race with your santas. They wouldn't have been that expensive.
