We went to the specialist farmers market this morning, spent a fortune at the butchers and stocked up our freezer full if meat for the foreseeable. got the usual but got transit, goat and ox tail too.
was thinking if a rabbit and gnocchi ragu thing but what can I do with the goat and the ox tail????

Ooooh I love a bit of transit lol! Only way to go with goat anf ox tail is Jamaican. Love curried goat.. spice me up baby!

I thought curried goat but hs friends mum makes amazing curried goat and it wouldn't compete.
What do I do with ox tail? I thought a thick red wine sauce???

Never cooked it before but eaten oxtail stew. You just leave it to cook for hours then suck out the bones

ox tail stew hairy bikers have a good recipie for that. Goat I would curry long slow cooking

Goat??? Is it just me thinking that we didn't eat goat in this country?
I couldn't eat goat, rabbit or ox tail.

My friend makes a fabulous coat curry! Oxtail is not for me though, although I have never tried it.
Dolly - of course you can eat goat in this country!! come round my way to my butchers and you will find lots of things to eat you never thought you could!

I live a sheltered life here in the West Country ;)
I honestly don't know if you would find Goat in a butcher any where near me!
Maybe it's an area thing where there are other cultures?
It's predominantly White British or polish where I live!

you can get goat in halal butchers and also our abbatoir sell it too, i really like it. hs mate is jamaican and he is usually only invited to parties at our house as long as his mum will make a small pot of goat curry for us
dolly theres loads of lovely meats out there rahter than just chicken or beef give them a go
my sil can't eat duck as 'it would be like eating donald' apparently, i sat tucking into my lovely duck whilst she ate her bland chicken breast (she wont eat thighs or legs as she doesnt to bone )

I can't eat meat off the bone either! Particularly chicken bones because of the black stringy bits! (Vom)
I've tried kangaroo in aus but that's as far as I go! I wouldn't be able to eat goat. No way.
I thought I wasn't fussy but obviously am when it comes to meat!
