How do you guesstimate this?? I looked on the councils website and can only find how bands were worked out in 1991, Our house isnt built yet so I have no idea how to look it up. How can I find out how much we will be likely to pay?

Contact the council hun or ask the development, they will be able to give you a price which the neighbours are paying.

Aaggh really can't remember what we had to do. I think the council sent us a letter estimating how much it would be, and saying it may change in the future (could be totally wrong though, my memory is shot ATM!) However this was after we moved in so not much use. If their are new houses on your estate completed, like 1st baby said they should be able to give you an idea, but if not I'd be wary of them going off the neighbouring prices as they could differ with house size and all that jazz.

we got a letter from the council estimating what ours would be, which was the same as the other houses of the same design on our estate. Howver; 2 weeks after moving in we got another letter to say they had moved us up a band!! we were fuming!

The sales office on the estate told us what band it would be
