So I took I'll early hrs of 20/12 and ended up ambulanced into hospital with horrendous abdo pain and vomiting where it was discovered I had gall stones and 1 was blocking the old duct turning me jaundice. After much pain relief it settled and I was kept nil by mouth for 24 hrs just if fluids. I was due home the next day but had a recurrence of the pain so was basically kept in all weekend nil by mouth and thoroughly miserable. I was hoping for and ercp to remove the stones on Xmas eve but they postponed that till today as an outpatient.
i was allowed home Xmas eve but very weak and tired and only allowed very low fat food but tbh I didn't fancy much it was just nice to be home with my family.
wechose to have Xmas at home rather than at the ILS as originally planned and we'd see them Boxing Day.
xmas was quite quiet and subdued but I was home.
i woke yesterday not feeling right but adamant I was going to ILS as I'd already ruined Xmas for everyone but en route I became more un well feeling g nauseous .
as soon as we arrived I promptly threw up and the pain returned despite pain killers so I ended up in another ambulance to Macclesfield where I was diagnosed with pancreatitis too caused by the stone then interfering with the pancreas and was v poorly. Eventually they arranged a ambulance transfer back to my home hospital with a view to doing the ercp today .
Sohere I am still in hospital. I had the ercp today which was a horrendous procedure I never want to go through again.
im just about to eat for the 1st time in days I'm just hoping it doesn't cause pain.
ive no idea when I'm coming home I guessit depends how my pancreas responds but I do feel a bit brighter.
and I'm now on the list for removal of my gall bladder which I must say I can't wait. I just want to feel better as I'm tired of feeling ill. So I may just have my Xmas sometime in the middle if next year!
Well I've responded well to treatment and while I'm far from 100% I feel so much better than I did and it seems that I passed the stone myself hence the horrendous pain on Boxing Day. I'm now booked for an urgent cholecystectomy which I'm hopefully will be in 2-3 weeks time as there's ever chance it may recur, but right now I'm just happy to be home.
thank you for all your good wishes x
