I've seen you both have made snowflakes over the weekend which look brilliant. Would you mind telling me how it's done - they look a lot fancier than the cut out ones I used to do at school

So easy (has to be for me to even consider it ) - I googled it and found this link

Ah fab! Thanks.
where have you hung yours?
09/12/2013 at 11:21
We haven't yet, it's sitting on top of the ironing board! Think we're going hang it in our bay window in the lounge.

I used the same tutorial! I'm soooo impressed with them!

Are yours hanging from your ceiling Rod? They look so pretty and easy to do.
How are you feeling now lovely?
09/12/2013 at 13:21
yea ive got about 8 of those dotted about in different sizes across door ways and under shelves and some flat 6 point snowflakes too from the ceiling - i love having a grotto for a house!
I'm alright thanks, physically back to normal, emotionally 50:50. I had 2 crying sessions last week, one was alcohol fuelled. But im alright. Thank you for asking x

I love those snowflakes - have shown the kids at school and they were amazed that I'm clever and crafty (apparently!).
Rod - don't know what happened, hope you are okay whatever has happened

Its on Rods ticker QI :-( Been thinking about you too Rod. Your snowflakes sound lovely, I think I will have to give it a go. Love the sound of a grotto for a house!

Belle, you really seem to be getting into your Christmas crafts...
They're really easy to make (made some with my boys a couple of weeks ago), make sure you share a pic when you're done. Also, did you make any more salt dough decs???
10/12/2013 at 09:18
QI I had another miscarriage :(
I love the snowflakes, they're a bit fiddly if you do small ones but look really impressive. I love walking into my living room and seeing them all up.

AK no, not had a chance to do anymore salt dough as he's had a party every weekend this month! I may do some more between Christmas and New Year whilst I'm off.
ROD it's ok to make these with standard A4 paper isn't it?
10/12/2013 at 10:24
Yea but you gotta make it a square first and remember each one uses 6 sheets, so it will be big! for reference, the one in the middle is made with one a4 sheet (squared off) for each branch, and the ones either side are half that.
these ones under the shelves are 6 squares cut from 1 sheet of a4
And this is the room for reference on sizes (bit blurry sorry)
dont quote as I will delete!

Oh Rod it looks so pretty! Did the kids help you or you just sat and did this all by yourself?
10/12/2013 at 10:55
M did the big one, and made a couple of the other snowflakes, but it was pretty much just me! I am quite happy to sit cutting out shapes haha

I'm going to have to do paperchains with Louie. A trip to Wilkinsons is in store me thinks.
10/12/2013 at 11:19
They look great Rod, much better than our solitary snowflake! think we'll have to do some more different sizes and paper chains, C will love doing more of them
10/12/2013 at 11:22
M did half a paper chain and then she got bored so I did the rest of it! in fact I've just made a little snowflake for my desk haha I'm obsessed!!
10/12/2013 at 11:25
Tell you what why don't you make them for me and I'll come pick them up?
haha I should start a business!
