Can anyone talk to me about diabetes? Symptoms etc. xxx

I'm not an expert but someone at work was tested any there symptoms were a constant thirst- even after drinking bottles of water they would still be thirsty. I think it depends on the type of diabetes- maybe try NHS direct?

Rapid change in weight, up or down, thirst, deteroation in eyesight, lethergy.... do you think you might need to be tested? i have PCOS so I have been tested before x

La i dont have the constant thirst which I know is a sign.
Nina, I have a few pointers. Sore feet, rapid weight gain, Headaches, irritability, Lightheadness. Ive been investigated for various menstrual issues but Im starting to wonder if it could be diabetes. I get major blood sugar drops that only eating can stop. Its a horrible feeling xxx

id speak to the gp, it would be more likely that your blood sugar would be incredibly high, that tends to be when it is picked up (you get loads of added effects when you have a high bm) so it would be worth asking the gp to do a fasting blood glucose on you

Thanks CP, Would that explain the funny feeling? I feel really spaced out. Ive had 3 different pills in 6 month so it could always be that. They cant sort the menstrual issues so I thought it might be worth looking at different things.

Have you been tested for PCOS ? that sounds just how I feel and I am on Mettformin for my PCOS which has helped. Did you ever speak to the consultant about the ablation?
28/11/2012 at 18:05
Ive been tested for everything. I had a colopsy earlier this year but they still have no answers. Ive another appointment in March to discuss the ablation but I think Im going to see if I can bring the appointment forward. Im so pissed off with being pissed off xxx

Ah lovely, I would ask them if it can be moved? Do you have the consultants name? It may be easier to contact them directly if you can x

Thanks Nina, My consultant is fab and has said I can contact him directly if I need too. He is a specialist in a roller ball version of the ablation. Not sure what that entails and Im not overly convinced I want to know
