What are they for? We didn't have on. Do the pics come as part of your wedding album? If not what do you use the pics for? Iv whist seen soI know had one but not sure if they get an album it what they do with the photos. Her photos are inside and just of her and the fiancé in various poses in a room. If someone showed me a wedding album then I'd happily look at it but I can't see the point if a ore wedding shoot. An I missing something? Is it more for things like thank you cards or something?

I think some photographers do them as part of a package, so you can all get used to each other before the wedding.
We didn't have one, but for my birthday one year H and I did get some photos done professionally. We gave photos to our parents for their houses and also wanted some prints for our walls (tho still not got round to this 4 years later!!). It was just a bit of fun and to get some nice photos as we didn't have any.

Ours came with the package, I tried and failed to negotiate it out!
We were told its there as our TOG thinks he gets to know us and it means you're relaxed and used to posing etc on the day. I was sceptical but it worked!
You could have the pictures in a guest book but we used one as a picture board for guests to sign.
We didn't put the photos in our wedding album but we do have them all.
I just about managed to get my H to pose on our wedding day let alone a pre wedding shoot. He point blank refues to have any pictures taken. Apart from the wedding album & one framed wedding picture, I only have 1 other picture of him.

My H was the same as Belle's, he refused to do the pre wedding shoot and thought it was pointless. Our photographer sold it as an 'engagement shoot'...

O I didn't even think it was so the photographer could get used to you. The ones iv seen are very very posed, it wouldn't be my type of thing at all.
Belle and ws - my h is the total opposite, he had a pic taken in Central Park years ago and thought he looked 'amazing' in it and have a copy to his mum for Mother's Day .

Ours was fairly natural and candid like our wedding pictures.

Hell no, we didn't bother with that. Was bad enough posing for my wedding photos.
I'm dreading having to pose for photos at my Mums wedding next month. The tog is my ex, so I am hoping it won't be THAT bad, as I'm used to him taking my photo, but still, eugh!!! Will be weird posing for him, with my clothes on though

we did as it was 'free' as part of our package. it was good for H as he hates having his pic taken so we got to know the photographer and he was more relaxed on the day. I wouldn't have paid extra for it but it was nice to do

I do them for the reasons stated above. It's so the bride and groom don't go in cold on the day with me, a total stranger, pointing a massive camera in their faces. Plus some people like to use them for signing boards or guest books or the like. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea and it actually costs me time and money to do it but it's all part of the service, plus I probably enjoy them more than the actual wedding day - so much pressure, so little time!
