We had a wonderful day It is amazing how less stressful it is without the Ex! Last year I was too worried about everything to enjoy it, this year it was jsut lovely. At one point I was doing somethign and thought it would be easier to use the food processor to do this. Ex would have kicked off at me doing that, but he wasn't there so I used it U wanted me to read to her some of her new books and I read to her at least ten different books. She also changed PJs approx twnety throughout the day so that she got good use out of all of them. We kept our new PJs on all day at the request of the children. When I spoke to my Dad on the phone he was quite judgemental about it, but I actually was more of feck you, we can wear what we want! My Dad did slightly ruin my good feeling by making shitty comments on the phone. Part of me wishes I'd have pulled him up on it but I didn't. On the evening I remembered what B said about me enjoying cooking and I whisked up a broccoli and cauliflower and stilton soup and froze myself some portions for my lunches when I go back to work.
I hope you all ahd a lovely stress free day or at least a lovely day

Wonderful, fair play to you that's what it's all about. Poor S is ill, so is H....the two year old is dealing with it better though. But I had a lovely lovely family day witth my folks and brother too. Don't get me wrong I didn't stop all day but somehow I revelled in it. Then started building Lego with my 6 yr old at 9pm, by the end of it I was totally shattered, but wouldn't change a thing!

Glad you had a nice day QI, God knows you deserve it.
QS, hope everyone is better soon.
I had an ace day. My boys had a blast, and seeing their faces light up made my day. I burst into tears watching J open his presents, as be really "got it" this year, and he seemed so grown up. C saw me crying, and said "oh God, here she goes", before giving me a cuddle, haha.
My bah humbug H even enjoyed himself, which was good, as his miserable face usually takes the shine off things.
We were all spoilt, but my boys said thank you after opening each and every present, which was cute. J wanted to stop opening presents, once he had opened his chocolate lollies, all he wanted to do was sit and eat them.
H picked his kids up today, so they opened all their presents. All i'll say, is that I have never known 2 children to be so unemotional when opening presents. No smiles, no excitement. H had to force them to say thank you.
Already looking forwards to next year, and have started planning it in my head.
