That's done it! I've texted my SW lady who will now stalk me on a regular basis, love her. I have promised to return to group tomorrow, so now I shall have to! Now that Agnes is 6 weeks old and we're in new routines I need to lose 2.5 stone most urgently. Then there's another 1.5 stone which would be great to lose but if I don't I have clothes that will fit and I can feel pretty normal.
Hubby (who is porky at the mo) and I turned to chocolate and cake in recent months. Last night we climbed in to bed to watch TV with a massive bowl of fruit between us. That's a first! If he's on board with healthy eating I can do it no problem. It's always him who leads me astray!
Anyone else trying to lose weight? Anyone got any hints for quirky motivation or things that keep you focused? Anyone else had a lifetime of big-small-big-small?!! I really want to be a good role model for our wee girl so we plan to make these changes permanent. Nothing drastic or faddy, just stop using food as a treat/consolation :) Wish me luck...

Good on you. I and my husband need to loose weight. It would help my husband as it would put less stress on his muscles affected by Beckers Muscular Dystrophy and it was also help his heart as he has heart failure due to the Beckers. I need to loose about 17kg. Sadly I tend to comfort eat :(. Eat more healthily, smaller portions and move more are the order of the day.

Oh Counter I've just realised your daughter was born on my wedding anniversary, is it really 6 weeks already?
I need motivating to eat healthier, I'm very lucky that I don't put weight on (in fact I am more likely to be underweight - but thats a different moan), but of course not putting weight on gives me absolutely no motivation to eat healthier and H is getting a bit porky because of my late night sweet treats.
I'll look forward to hearing some of your healthy snack ideas... what fruit do you enjoy - I get a bit bored of grapes and oranges which is what my girls like, I bought apricots the other day which I'm quite enjoying.

I really need to lose weight. S is now 8 weeks (how did that happen?!), so I feel like it's time to make an effort as I don't want to feel chunky for our holiday in September and mine and H's 30th birthdays later this year.
Problem is during the day I don't really end up eating properly, and graze on biscuits, crisps and toast. I need to make the effort to fit in a proper breakfast I think. I know I need to do exercise too but not sure how I'll fit it in. S doesn't like to nap in the house, only out and about so I can't stick a DVD on when she's asleep. Gym membership is so expensive as I know I'd only make it twice a week at a push, think I need to find a class that I enjoy and some motivation to actually get me there!

After I had my son in 2007, I ended up doing buggy fit. Might be worth seeing if there is a buggy fit class near you Flossy. I used to go to the local woods it was great fun and I loved being out and about. The other thought is Mum and baby yoga. See if your local Surestart is doing any exercise classes. It is never easy fitting in exercise even when babies get older.

Oooh buggy fit is a great idea, sure I found some classes online nearby before I had S so will have a look. Much easier to take her to something than try to fit it around her!
