What diets have you been on / tried? Which is your favourite and why? I have mainly done WW, I tried SW and lasted half a day, I've also tried Nutracheck (Calorie Counting).
I'm at the point now where I'm losing and gaining the same 14lb on WW because I can't be bothered pointing, and I'm eating rubbish with my points. Thinking of converting to SW, going to spend my morning looking up other peoples menu's to try and get some inspiration and see how it can work for me! :-)

I've always been a WW gal. Its always worked for me, though when I was younger and did it I never maintained and of course put weight on, I'm really conscious of maintaining this time. If I lose my enthusiasm for it I buy a WW magazine, I find the WL stories and recipes give me renewed enthusiasm! My mum is doing well on SW atm. To be honest I don't think its about which diet you do, but your attitude to sticking to it! (thats a general you, not a YOU you)

Agree 100%! All about attitude. I think boredom, and not being bothered to follow part of a plan is all part of attitude, but hoping (!) that a change will re-ignite the right attitude, ha.

Yeah hopefully it will, I do get bored of counting points but I know I have to do it if I don't want to put the weight back on. I just hang on for my treat days!

Very true. I maintained my weight loss on WW for 8 or so years (3 stone), but last 2 years I've been yo-yo'ing between keeping off 2-3 stone! We are TTC at the moment so eating healthy is fairly important. I'm also 'always' on a diet of some sort to try and help me to reign in every now and then, and think SW is best suited to TTC and actually being pregnant as you can still follow the principles of it. This is what I'm convincing myself with anyway! Lol.

Wow, so you're a pro really, having maintained for 8 years! Good luck with the ttc, tbh as soon as I got pregnant with my boys I ate everything in sight lol

Yes - I really don't know whats happened in the last 2 years. Less exercise, more convenience food, not being bothered - with regards to planning, cooking and sometimes even food shopping... Ooops! Haha, I think a lot of people do, I turn into a hermit when I've put weight on - my confidence goes through the floor, so really would like to limit damage. I don't want to have my baby and not want people round because of my weight etc. I know that sounds daft, but I know what I'm like :-(

Im on the 5:2 diet now..having done all the others too....im loving it...fasting two days a week and not having to be strict everyday....lost 8 pound in 3 weeks....

Thats fab Bexybexy, I just don't know if I could do that long term- when you reach your goal weight how do you maintain on it?

I've given up with 5:2 diet as I lost loads at the start and then it plateaued off. I've gone back to MFP, much easier to get to grips with for me.

I was always a WW girl too but i have been yo-yoing for about 15 years and am now at my heaviest ever! So i joined SW 3 weeks ago and have lost 6lbs so far. I am finding it eadier and better than WW so far and i am eating far healthier than i ever did on WW.

I have always been a SW gal. What's so fab IMO is that there is no calorie counting and you can still eat, it's just about making better choices. Am 1lb off my pre-pregnancy weight in 4 months by following SW (after putting on 6lb in the first 6 weeks during which I thought cakes were complilsory!) and 6.5lb off goal weight.
