Munchkin you could try with mayo.. I think the salad cream gives it a nice tang.
No but I will now! I love salad cream but might skip the cheese.

The cheese makes it nice when its grilled.

I am just thinking of the old diet, I know the cheese would be delicious though mmm.

rather than mix cheese in put a really small amount on top, then you'd use less x

Perfect, I am thinking this would make a good lunch on Wed, my non working day. If I can wait that long...

H eats the eggs with the middle scooped out and mixed up with salad cream before putting it back in. Yuk yuk yuk. He'd like that though. Maybe a treat when he is home...

Apart from the onion, that sounds AMAZING.

My boss got me into liking it, she made it for me at work once and she doesn't put onion in, but I love onion!
She said her mum used to make it for them when they were little which is why I wondered if its something that other people eat too, as I remember years ago on Hitched a thread about 'egg in a cup' , which I think was possibly a northern thing !

Sounds kind of odd but nice!
My friend makes hard boiled eggs with a mango chutney and salad cream and curry saice which sounds beyond rank but was totally delicious!

oooh i'd eat that!
i eat ALL sorts of weird combo things - baked potatoes with cheese and mint jelly, toasted seeded pittas with philadelphia and sweet chilli chicken breasts...

We have egg in a cup! H's mum has always made it. She's scottish but lived in the East End from when she was 16. I love egg in a cup!
