Random musing, but I've realised that I'll be 33 in December and despite having (in no particular order) 2 degrees, a career, a husband, a child, a dog and a mortgage I still don't feel like a grown up! Inside i still feel about 15! There are people if my life who i consider to be "proper grown ups" even though on the outside we're pretty much equals. Anyone else feel like this? Does it ever change??

I still refer so many things to other people and don't feel like a grown up BUT for me I associate it with not having much power/control over my life. As I start to have more control I feel a bit mroe like a grown up but on the whole no. Do you think it is the same for you?

Hmmm... I think it's more the way I feel inside, still quite insecure and gawky iyswim? I'm still into and drawn to stuff I liked as a teenager, lots of hello kitty stuff that kind of thing? And I've never had a handbag, still use a rucksack for work!

I do feel that I'm grown up but I don't feel 33. I sometimes have to think about how old I am as in my head I'm about 28/29! I do sometimes have to remind myself that I am old enough now that I shouldn't feel like the inexperinced new kid, but it doesn't always work. For example I'm doing an MA, at least half the people there are in their early 20's but I still feel a bit like the inexperienced one, rather than the one who has a full time job, a position of responsibility, a mortgage etc.

I don't feel grown up, I worry I never will, I think this is partly to do with the fact I find it hard to trust my own judgement and often second guess myself.

I'm not sure. I see people my age and I've got friends my age and older who still live at home, where as I've got a nearly 10yr old, 4yr old, been with h since I was 19, got 14 years left on our mortgage but still act like I haven't got any of those sometimes when I go out. Sometimes I feel old compared to those people when they are out all of the time but I'm not jealous and know that when I'm still young ish I'll have a life where I don't have the kids sort as they'll be old enough to have their own life.

Nope, I don't. I don't think I ever will, though I am starting to realise my age more and more with all the involuntary noises I make when I have to stand up from kneeling and the like. Then I definitely feel my age!

In some ways yes, but a lot of ways not at all and just want to go running to my parents for them to help, and I'm 38!

Sometimes but not always.. at work I feel a lot younger, I work as a nanny but the mum doesn't work she's usually around so I feel more like a young mothers help than an experienced nanny1 She makes me feel about 20!
