I've always fancied a watch, but never really put much thought into getting one. I spotted a couple I liked yesterday but as always spending a couple of hundred on yourself makes you question whether you actually need one.
If you wear a watch do you wear it everyday?

Yes, I feel lost without my watch! The two nice ones that I wear were both gifts though so it wasn't me spending the money on myself.
I wear mine as I do my other "best" jewellery - only when i'm dressed up / for special occasions and sometimes just on a weekend if i'm wearing something very nice My watch is quite dressy, and as you say, not cheap, so not something i'd want banging off my keyboard 12hours a day at work as it would not only annoy me, but also get ruined.
My H has 2 watches - one for work which is very practicle/boring, literally just to tell the time, and then a nice one that I got him for a wedding pressie. I've just got him a new day watch which cost £40 wheras his "best" watch was over ten times this, and he'd never dream of wearing it to work!
How are you with other jewellery? Do you put your best/most expensive pieces on during an average/working day?

Nope. Have had a few over the years for presents etc but I never wear them. I find them annoying and use my phone for the time

No, I have about 10 of them as well lol

LM I don't have best jewellery. I wear my wedding ring and that's it. My e-ring broke & is with the jeweller being fixed.

Im like LM - I never wear a watch at work or lying about house, only if Im out & doing sthing. OH bought me a beautiful DKNY watch for my birthday last year. A couple of years before that my friends clubbed together and got me a white strap fancy DKNY watch but it got soo dirty!

I only take my watch off to shower and feel lost without it, I've got a more dressy one I change it to when going out. If you arent sure if you will wear it maybe worth getting a cheaper one to start with and see how you get on?

I have them but i never wear one.

Scotty that is what I'm thinking but the one I saw was sooo pretty.
So where would I buy a cheaper watch? House of Fraser / department store type places?
I used to wear one every day (not expensive) and couldn't do without it. The battery went and I was too lazy to buy a new one so got used to life without it and haven't worn one now for years and don't miss it at all!

I know of a lovely new website (gone live yesterday I think) that you could buy a watch from some of the Accurist ones are quite nice and start at about £35 (although I prefer the ones that start about £40-£50)

The Watch shop are quite good for online stuff but if you prefer to pick them up and try before buying then department stores like Debenahams have cheaper ones you could try.

deedee is that your H's website? my mom was born in ashby!

When I was working I needed to wear one all of the time because I worked in 3 hour slots and usually in a room with no clock or out and about. I needed to keep an eye on the time in order to plan my therapy sessions. I never wore an expensive one though because I worked with kids who could hit and kick and bite so I'd usually have one of those rubbery ones. I haven't worn one since I left work though, I look at my phone if I'm out.

SM - yes, it's their new one! (just two months late going live) My offices used to be in Ashby too, quite a nice little town.

I wear a watch when I'm out and about, I don't wear it around the house usually. I would be lost without my watch!
we drove through there on the way back from lincolnshire in June, if had had known you were ashby way we could have stopped off.
