L has an incredible memory and it really amazes me the random facts he remembers.
Today he's persuaded H to take him to Bluewater to post his Christmas letter in the big letter box next to Pret on the lower level. WTF? I can't even remember where Pret is let alone there's a post box nearby He also suggested that whilst they were there they grab a McDonalds.

Yeah J always remembers random things that I think he couldn't possibly remember.

Yup M does this too. And forgets nothing either so you have to be careful what you agree to and make sure you are listening when she asks things in case you agree to something without realising because she will remember, guaranteed! Like his thinking re McDonald's too

Yep E and S both have brilliant memories. The best one is E remembering that when my nana permed my mum's hair that she put neutraliser on it.

Yep, memory like an elephant. If I ask him what he has done at school or what he has had for snack he doesn't know though!

That's the interesting thing about memory isn't it? They can remember things that happened months and months (or even years) before but can they remember to do the thing that you asked them to do one minute ago? No they can't.
When she was about 2 and a half we were out with a friend and her little boy. My daughter and the little boy were playing near some stinging nettles and my daughter got stung. I put a plaster over the top of the sting and then there was a little argument between the two children about putting the plaster wrapper in the bin and in the end we found something else for the other child to put in the bin. A whole year later my daughter re told this whole story to me. I hadn't remembered about the plaster argument at all but it had obviously made a big impression on her even though it was over in about half a minute, didn't even cause a tantrum.

Yes, C comes out with things from ages ago all the time - he'll often mention things from our holiday to Disneyworld which was 18 months ago when he hadn't long turned 3, plus other things which I can't remember since my memory is shockingly bad!

Kellfi - E is the same, ask her what she's done at playgroup she doesn't have a clue.
Deedee - says she can remember going to florida, she was only 9 months old.

Molly is like this yet when you ask her about school every time you get the same answer - drawing and painting!! she even tries to tell me that sometimes on a non-school but swimming day! yet she remembers names and places in great details

C has an epic memory, for songs from films, and what other things actors have been in.
He'll be watching something, even an advert, and if he recognises the song, he'll tell you what film, who was in it, and what else they have been in, then songs from that film.
It is things like this, that made his teachers think he had Aspergers.
