I've decided I need to have a go. I wanted a sewing machine anyway so it was a good excuse. Going to try one of the raggy patchwork quilts first, just as something for baby and to entice me home from work as I find relaxing VERY difficult and have vowed to cut my hours right back from Christmas.
I have lots of enthusiasm for crafty things but am actually a bit crap and have zero talent when it comes to being creative. I'd welcome any tips for a complete beginner if any of you have done a bit of quilting! :)

I love quilting and have approx six diferent ones on the go excedpt since Ex left I just haven't had any time for it.
Best tip start with a small project first and also buy a pair of scissors specifically for cutting your paper backing and a different set for fabrics and buy a scissor sharpner! Actually I hundreds of tips Don't want to overwhelm you though!

Ooh great, thanks. Once everything arrives and I make a start I think I'll be back with questions then. Feel free to post a pic of your fave, all the Google/Pinterest ones look amazing, it would be lovely to see what a 'real person' can do! :)
