I'm going to a hen party in Birmingham and looking at booking my train tickets.
It's on a Saturday and the first activity is cocktail making at 12.00 in a bar called Revolution on Broad Street. The hotel is Menzies Birmingham Hagley Road and we can't check in until 2pm.
Would you get a train to arrive with enough time to go the hotel with the aim to drop your case off, then taxi/walk to the bar? Or would you go straight to the bar with your overnight bag? how long do you think I should allow to get from the train station to Broad Street? Is it walking distance? the cheapest train arrives in Birmingham at 11.26am.

This sounds so much like my hen do [laugh} I would drop my stuff off yes. You won't walk from the hotel to the bar, it's too far. Train station to BS walking will be about 10/15mins- are you getting into new street station?

so I need enough time to get from the station- hotel- bar? the train arriving at 11.26 is going to be too late to make all those journeys. earlier train and lots of chnage for taxis then?
WS- we are alos going to a comedy club and having a cheesy disco.

You could get a taxi to take you to the hotel and wait whilst you check in, then take you to the bar? It'll be a pain having your stuff with you. I did the cocktails, great fun but we drank far too much! Enjoy it! I'm guessing you'll be down towards the Chinese quarter for comedy and cheese! Hope you have comfy shoes, it's a bit of a trek!

I would get taxis for all, they're not really within walking distance of each other. Are you going to glee, I went there on my hen it was great!

the comedy club is called Jongleurs, also on Broad Street. Rosebud what time would you suggest my train arrives in Birmingham?

From the train station to broad street is walkable. Hagley road to broad street is easier by taxi

Sorry had another look at your original post. You could walk to broad street from the station in about 20 mins so if you want to take your bags with you then check in later then the 11:26 train is fine. Hagley road isn't too far by taxi from the station either so you might just get there in time if you got the same train and got a taxi to check in to your hotel and then take you to broad street.

Not helpful about Birmingham, but you can get train tickets with tesco points if you have them. They are 3 or 4 times the value too.
