Hi there, I'm due any day now and was wondering what the best way of baby sleeping is. I've heard that sleeping bags are not good to use at first but I have some that are 0-6 months which I assume some people do use straight away, what would anyone recommend?
Also unsure if I should use a bumber in the crib, some say yes and some no, everyone seems to have different opinions and I'm confused.com
Many thanks for any advise, Elaine

The best thing is a few light layers hun (sheets). Sleeping bags may cause your baby to overheat.
And I dont think you really need cot bumpers for a newborn, as he/she gets older and starts sitting then yes Good luck for your birth hun x x x

As Racheybaby says, with newborns it's usually best to go with sheets or light blankets with you able to add/remove layers depending upon how cold/warm the room is. Some people will use 'Gro-bags' or 'fleece sleepsuits' as babies can kick off covers so rather than keep replacing them they go for the 'wearable' option.
Cot bumpers are down to personal preference, I've always had them (more for decoration) but it is as baby gets older & starts moving around more in their bed you can appreciate them (more 3mths+).
Another tip to help settle baby into bed for the 1st time is to have a muslin square held next to you for 20-30mins & then place it into the cot with baby so they have your smell nearby.
