I have bought this dress: (I hope the link works - I can't work out how to do it properly on here yet)
and some patent black high heels.
I need some tights to go with them - I presume black? What denier? Sparkly or plain? (I saw some black sparkly tights in Next today that I quite liked, but not sure if it would be a bit much.
If it makes any difference I have some horrid thread veins on the insides of my knees that I'd like to hide, so thin natural tights are definitely out, and I have a silver clutch bag to go with it.

I don't like natural/tan tights or sparkly tights, I think only kids should wear sparkly but that could just be me.
I would go for thick black tights. I love Asda's 150 denier tights, they are so comfy and thick and hold everything in.

Btw the dress is lovely.

Thanks SW, I'm clueless, I hardly ever go out, let alone get dressed up to go out, and this Christmas I have 3 occasions to go to, and this dress will hopefully cover them all, but I have no idea what will go/what other people wear at the moment! Thick tights would be great - holding everything in is definitely what I need. I can't get to an Asda though this week - I could get to M&S, Sainsburys, Next, possibly Tesco, New Look, Debenhams?

Debenhams have 150d tights and they have free delivery if you can't get to the shop.

M&S have 100 denier tights.

I'll go to M&S tomorrow morning as I can do that easily before work at lunchtime. Thank you!

Oh that dress is gorg !! I think a really decent pair of silky barely black would look hot. Otherwise id go 60 denier max. Anything more will be to heavy for the dress. Can we see the shoes?

Right, after a quick read of this this morning, I now have one pair of 60 denirt black, one pair 100denier black and one pair of sparkly tights (they will go with another dress i have I think), so going test them all with the outfit and see which are best. Kat the shoes are these ones - not my first choice, but my feet are so wide at the toe anything pointy or narrow is just painful. These are comfy and actually look ok with the dress.
Please tell me they are ok!

I can't see the link for the shoes but glad you managed to get some tights.
