oh my word! does anyone else have a local free, for sale wanted group on FB like this? it's like a really bad car boot sale. pages and pages of crap. Some really dodgy electrical items, stuff broken- 'kettle for sale lid broken but ok if you hold it down'???? and nobody writes a description, it's all this text talk- pm me for details, offers, need gone TONIGHT. Loads of photos of clothes but no sizes or prices as a guide. I've no idea how anyone sells anything. Then something really weird like a broken fish tank will have loads of interest and people start getting arsey about who replied first on the post and who gets to collect it.

BTW this is not about the PP/DW pages which are full of beautiful stuff.

i've going to have to defend because i've bought quite a lot of stuff on there for twinklet. i do know what you mean about them though. it is like a car boot. my mum is moving house and has sold a lot of stuff on there. its good for local selling as saves postage costs, good in comparision to ebay as no fees.

That's fantastic, I might hunt it down for a giggle. Some people honestly, it's really hard to know how to sell things isn't it. Only certain bits seem to sell on the baby pages, eBay is beyond me I'm useless. I think I may actually brave doing a car boot.

Yes we have that. Today someone is selling a garden climbing frame with attached slide - the slide has a crack up the middle. When someone replied saying that's dangerous she got arsey about it!

Oh yes Twink I think they are a great idea I just don't understand what all this pm me for detail is about. why don't they list the description along with the photo? I want to sell some stuff without postage so I think local selling pages are a good idea but the group I have joined is a bit rubbish!

Our local selling page is actually ok.  The admins are quite strict about putting size/price/location etc on the pictures and you're only allowed to post 3 items on there in 24 hrs. We've got quite a lot of good stuff from there and I've sold loads.

Our local one was good and I sold quite a bit. I think it's too popular now though and it's hard to see what there is. You post something and it ends up off the page in minutes. Not managed to sell anything in a while. Might need to do a car boot!

Ours is quite good - managed to sell my Jumperoo on there and bought two Trunkis for £10 which were virtually brand new.  Though there can be some absolute tat on there at times!

I think it depends on the admins running the page. a couple in my area are good. There was some girl reposting loads of crap clothes every hour this week. She has ben banned right away. I use them to promote OHs gardening business which works really well.
