I get gellish or shellac nails, depending on the brand but as it costs me £30 a time (every 3 weeks) i'm tempted to get them soaked off later today at my appointment. Who has false nails and am I going to miss them?

I have acrylic nails. I get my infills done every month at £15 a time. My nails don't grow very quickly though. I've had gel nails before but they've always broken off and the infills always seemed to need doing sooner, so I stick with acrylic. As I only have them done once a month, I have them done quite short and by the time I get them done again, they are just getting towards that uncomfortable stage when you can't do anything!

I had acrylics for years but after having C I just couldn't get the childcare or time to
Keep them up. But I've totally embraced the home manicure. I have an array or nail polishes and I really look after them now. They are short and square ish and I think look nicer painted. I really reckoned buying that Sally Hansen drying spray, it's brilliant - it's kept where the nail
Polish remover is kept in Tesco's and Boots.

I go through stages, have had acrylics on for a couple of months just now. Sometimes get Shellac then give it all a break and do them myself. Nina has a gel kit that she bought as well, I think that she recs that

I have Gel or Shellac in the summer and acrylic over the winter. I find the Shellac or gel lift within days of me having them done, which is due to my excessive use of hand ceam (I hate dry hands!)

I have had all done - acrylics which look tatty after about a week on me, shellac which I love but my natural nails dont grow well at all, they flake and split, gel nails I find dont last anywhere near as long as the others, my newest thing is the stick ons from Primark. I use them for an occasion rather than keeping them on, they are brilliant for a £1!

I have acrylics and get my infills done every 4 weeks for £23. I have had them for years and missed them during periods when they have been soaked off. I also have shellac on my toenails. I find that on me when I don't have acrylics or shellac normal nail varnish just seems to chip after a day or so.

I used to have gels but stopped just before F was born. I had them infilled every 3 weeks. I really, really miss them but I just can't justify the cost now that I'm a SAHM.

Coming back to this, £30 is a lot of money your paying, My beautician charges £15 each or toes & hands for £25. The chinese shop charges £20 for gels.

I've just looked up the prices that I paid as I couldn't remember exactly (baby brain!). Three week infills were £25 and then any nail art was around £1 per nail. I'm pretty sure I used to spend £35 most times.
