My Dad is visitign this weekend and his wife has come along. I finally managed to convince him not to bring his dog. His wife can barely walk and she wants to visit Beamish for the day. I said to Dad (whom can barely cope with Beamish walking around himself - let alone her) no on that basis plus it is difficult feeding B in public because of hsi new diet restrictions. We discussed it alst night and said about going swimming at the hotel they were booked in at. I thought it was agreed, He has rung up jsut now to say it took them five hours to get here (normally takes about two and a half) and that tomorrow we are going to Beamish. For possibly the second time in my life I said no. I said if his wife was so desperate to go to Beamish the pair of them should go on their own tomorrow and we will do something else (I have a million and one things to do anyway). He said he was glad that he was staying in a four storey building because he could go and throw himself off it. I ahd needed to explain aswell that I would possibly ahev to take the cat to the vets int he morning but the conversation ended really stiffly and I didn't get to explain anything to him. ARRRGGGHHH! If either make any shitty comments tomorrow I will point out that I didn't invite either of them to visit!

Hard work. Throw himself off a building, bit dramatic?!

I think he would be horrorified if I said something like that to him. I know his journey was stressful but I don't think it wa entirely fair to dump on me. Also it was 7.20 and he has to ahev his tea before then or he can't sleep all night.

Beamish is forecast for rain tomorrow anyway (fellow Northerner here ) so your dad and his wife will need to get over that idea. Families can be an absolute nightmare, hope you manage to have a nice weekend.
